Hello - had to get the kiddos. Looks like Joel was doing more tracing letters today. :D Abby was very excited about her band meeting. Her next one is Monday morning, and she can take her trumpet this time.

I bet. She's going to have to hide out in her room - not because of our ears, but because of her brother. His sole purpose in life is to dismantle everything in our house.
We had DD with a flute and oboe, and DS with an alto sax, barri sax, numerous guitars, keyboard, violin and upright bass. We survivied.....

We just got the letter about string orchestra today, but she wouldn't be able to do both. The practices interfere with band practices.

Hi Jo - how was your day?

Not too bad. Have class at 5:30. But all my siblings got off today because of a bomb threat.

We have a piano, clarinet, flute, alto sax, tenor sax, keyboard, and numerous guitars (also had a violin for about 6 months).

At our school, they had to start with strings if they wanted to play in 4th grade, then they could switch in 5th. DD elected to wait til 5th, but DS did violin in 4th, then sax after that.

They don't start till 5th with both here. Abby is already doing two things this year, tap and band. I don't want her overscheduled, so that seems plenty to me.

I was thinking about that earlier todaywhen I was looking through some old threads.
What makes you say so?
The thread about how characters stay cool in their suits. Both Joanna and Steph probably know a lot about the subject but they didn't respond in such a negative way to some of the posters. It's no surprise that they were very polite and respectful. I just have no patience for people like that poster...

Oh and HI FREDDY!

I know, I really don't like people like that.
Just because you know something the rest of us don't...

Hi hunny!

They are good - Abby had her introductory band meeting before school today. Joel had an awesome day yesterday, I heard. I was helping with the health screenings yesterday at school, and one of his aides saw me and had to show me his journal. Most of the pages are just scribbles; however, yesterday she had drawn a swingset and wanted him to draw a swing. When she checked on him, though, she found he had tried to trace the letters of 'swing' which she had written at the bottom. She was so excited to show me! :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy: That warmed my heart as much as what he did. :)

That is sooo great, Jenny!:sohappy:

Ok now I and going to rant for a minute or two.
I had lunch with my mom and her 2 sister and their DD's. We were talking about celcbrating their BDs and that is why we were meeting together. My aunt doesn't like telling waitress's that it is her BD when it is not. I went on the say the next summer I want to celebrate my 30th anniversary and my 50th BD at Disney. They started laughing. Well I let that go and then I was saying that my DH's BD is tomorrow and they asked what we were going to do I was saying that the girls were free handing Tinkerbell. They asked why Tink and then proceded to ask me if my DH was gay  I said no. They asked me if I knew the meaning behind Tink. and asked me why Tink. I told them ever since he was little he liked Peter Pan. They just looked at me like I was strange.
Then whenever I tried to praise one of my family( my kids or DH) Theirs was always better. I felt sooooo small after this outing. They kept cutting me off whenever I started to say something. They were even cutting my mom off.

Really sorry to hear that, Susan. My mom's been having a tough time (even more so than usual) with relatives this past week. Grandma (with Alzheimer's) has been moved from "retirement community" to hospital to nursing home. Her brother (my uncle) usually wants no part in something it if it costs money, not to mention there's a whole 'nother issue with inheritance I won't even get into. :(

...Well, on the plus side of things, my TR from last Saturday is now up... at my "other" frequented site.
