Fall for us in Magic Friends

Really sorry to hear that, Susan. My mom's been having a tough time (even more so than usual) with relatives this past week. Grandma (with Alzheimer's) has been moved from "retirement community" to hospital to nursing home. Her brother (my uncle) usually wants no part in something it if it costs money, not to mention there's a whole 'nother issue with inheritance I won't even get into. :(

...Well, on the plus side of things, my TR from last Saturday is now up... at my "other" frequented site.

I am sorry about Grandma's Alzeimer's and here I am complaining.

Oh, believe me (or at least my mom)... any big issues dealing with family are the ones you have to be aware of and attend to the most; and also, with few exceptions, sharing these troubles with others.

That's really why I love this/these threads. You can cry, yell, kick and scream all you want, and everyone will still stop and take the time to figure out why, instead of all of those, you aren't laughing, smiling, or just plain content.

Ok now I and going to rant for a minute or two.
I had lunch with my mom and her 2 sister and their DD's. We were talking about celcbrating their BDs and that is why we were meeting together. My aunt doesn't like telling waitress's that it is her BD when it is not. I went on the say the next summer I want to celebrate my 30th anniversary and my 50th BD at Disney. They started laughing. Well I let that go and then I was saying that my DH's BD is tomorrow and they asked what we were going to do I was saying that the girls were free handing Tinkerbell. They asked why Tink and then proceded to ask me if my DH was gay  I said no. They asked me if I knew the meaning behind Tink. and asked me why Tink. I told them ever since he was little he liked Peter Pan. They just looked at me like I was strange.
Then whenever I tried to praise one of my family( my kids or DH) Theirs was always better. I felt sooooo small after this outing. They kept cutting me off whenever I started to say something. They were even cutting my mom off.

I'm so sorry Susie!
Relatives!
Just remember that to the people who matter the most, you're the world!

I knew I could come here and cry. My family right here understand but no one else does.

We understand and love you, Susan.
I've been thinking a lot today about just how much you can really know a person here. How sure can we really be about the people we talk to everyday?
In your case, it is easy to know that you are real. You are just a good, kind person and I don't know how anyone could see you any differently.

Oh my Aunt just speaks without thinking. I know she didn't really mean it all but I felt every word today. My DH just reminded me that I was there for my mom and not my Aunts. I love my DH.:sohappy:

Good evening1
Susan don't let them get to you. I know how you feel - when I suggested a WDW honeymoon for DH's niece, they laughed in my face. To me it was ideal, but to them I was just stupid....:(

I never understand that. Not that I think everyone should love WDW, but I think everyone should respect other peoples choices.

Funny story: A couple weeks ago, I (admit, I) was on the verge of dozing during my 1st period class (geography). It would likely take something theme park-related to jolt me out of it. Wouldn't you know it:

"...As such, our planet is commonly referred to as 'Spaceship Earth'."

"...ZZZZZZ*snort*wha?!" :lookaroun

me neither - that Titanic thing you know....

I don't blame you on that. That is also why I don't want to go on one.

Oy.
Don't even say cruise to me. Our friends are planning a cruise for next September and are totally PO'd that George and I opted out. We've been hearing about it all summer!

Mom and Dad wanted to go on a cruise with us kids instead of the beach. They have said they are soooo glad they chose what they did. Me too.:D

Funny, Daniel!
