Welcome to Magic Friends thread.
I don't do good with planning trips. When we went with our DD when she was 4 we just did what we wanted to do. We had to cut alot of corners to be able to go.

I think I would prefer to stay on site but that may not be possible. If we go, I kind of want to enjoy the full experience, but then again when I went as a kid we stayed with my parents friends and it was just fine!

We stayed on site the last time. I loved that we could go to the room and rest in the afternoon. We have also stayed off site and I felt like we couldn't leave until the last second. I didn't want to miss anything.
I hope this is helping. I don't want to steer you wrong.

I would personally stay on-site, and choose a value resort if you are on a budget.

Next October I am travelling with myself and 3 other adults. The price for POP century resort for 7 nights/7 days ended up at about 520 a person. (This is without flight of course).

I can only imagine it would be much cheaper for you if you have children going.

Thanks! I am going to get started with some of these trip planners now as well.
Hi and welcome! I'm Betty.

i'd advise you to pick up a guide book (either Birnbaum's or the Unofficial Guide) Both have lots of good advise.
I've stayed on property and off, and there are distinct advantages to both. When are you planning to go?

That is a good idea. I forgot about the guide books. :hammer:

Well alot of people here will suggest that you use Kingdom Konsultants to book your trip. I have heard nothing but good things about them, and also you can email them and just ask them for a quick quote to help you see what price range you are looking at.

I use a different travel agent called Mouse Ears Vacations. I recommend them very highly as well. They basically are doing everything for me and it is at no extra cost to me. I have never planned a trip before this one so I needed some help in doing it. Kingdom Konsultants if I understand correctly has no extra cost as well. If you went with either of them you would be very happy.

Or you can do it yourself on the wdw website or over the phone. I just prefer sitting back and not worrying about all the arrangements.

I'm not sure when you are planning on going, but from what I have read, January & February are cheaper months to choose, and September & October are cheaper as well. Then the period right after Thanksgiving but before Christmas is a good time to go as well.

That is really helpful! We don't have a date as of yet, but it is not a bad drive for us, so I want to pick whatever is cheaper. I worry it may be too chilly in Jan/Feb. I have been in December when it is 85 and in March when it was 40.

I was there last February at the beginning of the month and it was in the 70's but cool 50's or so at night. I enjoyed it because that is my type of weather right there!
But of course I live in MI, and in February it was still in the teens, so even 50's sounded beautiful to me! :)
My other trips have been in October and so far the weather has been great during those times.

I agree, the weather that time of year is pretty unpredictable. We always go Presidents' week, which gets crowded, but the weather is pretty good then. I think I'd recommend the week right after Thanksgiving.
