Fake Animals on the Safari.

I agree that the animals are obviously real, however, one creature...a maribu stork has to be fake. It is early on in the safari on the left hand side of the ride up a dirt track. I have been on ride at least half a dozen times and it has never moved...If it is not fake it must be nailed to the floor. Has anyone else noticed this 'possible' fake bird !!!
Real also. It just like to hang out at the Savanna Overlook. It was eventually removed and moved to Pangani Forest because it caused a little too much trouble.

You'd be amazed at how many guests think that the plants in Living with the Land are fake. My personal favorite is when I'm working with a crop (pruning, harvesting, picking up fallen leaves, etc.) and a guest asks "is that real?" I really want to respond "No ma'am/sir, Disney pays me to take plastic eggplant off of a plastic plant." (I don't, of course)

I'd pay to see that.

To go along with the theme of this topic... Another park in Orlando has a lot of animals that swim in the water. I used to work there and was asked if Shamu is a Disney robot! I think some people are under the impression that everything in Orlando is controlled by Disney and we're all robots!

Just an FYI; Mouseplanet are reporting most of the poacher scenario in KS could be for the chop in the next rehab.

I heard that was being considered. Not surprising, really....without the jeep chase and gunfire...what was the point?

I have heard the gunfire sfx or recent trips.

I even got to see the JEEP mechanical effect on a trip we made in 2006 (I think it was Feb... if not it, was in mid-2005).

I was very surprised to see the Jeep as I had not seen it since AK was newly opened.
Wish I'd had the video camera.

You know, even if someone thought that the animals were fake. You think they would be impressed by how good they look and how realistic their movements are.

I never would have thought people thought this way either--until I started working here--and like I said... I hear it just about everyday.

The Crocodiles are one thing, because I'll only see them actually moving or swimming probably around 10% out of the day... The rest of the day they just lay there completely still, sometimes they really do look as though they could be fake, so I guess I can understand that one.

What I can't understand is when a giraffe crosses the road in front of me, stops to eat from the tree next to me, then walks along-side our truck for a little while and then to hear "Fake..." That's when I (and usually everyone sitting in hearing-range of that person) give that person a look that says "You cannot be serious."

Robotics and animatronics have come a long long way in recent years, but even with our current technology, I have never seen a robot move or look the way those real animals do.

I smell a new game coming on... make the driver "prove" the animals are real!

I would be fine if they took out the "Poacher" scenes. The attraction is wonderful without it. It always seems to me like they just tacked that part on because they didn't know if people would respond to the experience without an added extra! I would actually go more often (maybe twice or three times per trip) if I didn't have to listen to that stuff. The bridge can stay though because that's kind of fun when its working.
