Eyes on EPCOT Center

Oh yeah! I've just sat up there and chilled out before. Plus some of the pictures I've posted, especially of Universe of Energy, have been from on the hills.

And I think you can still get to the grassy hill areas on the west side from near the Seas exit.

 Same here. It's nice to climb on top and grab a few UoE pics or just want some sun.

I am going to do the unthinkable and throw another heated element into this discussion, FastPass. It cannot be denied that FastPass has altered the way people experience the parks.

FastPass has created a scenario that encourages people to dart back and forth across the park as they seek to collect their desired FastPass and return to attractions. EPCOT Center was designed around pavilion, a place where guests could go and enjoy multiple experiences at one general location, and then move on to the next. Now guests have added another increment of walking to their attraction experience while the emphasis on pavilion has been downplayed. The park might benefit from having localized experiences at the other FastPass attractions.

I refuse to use FastPass because of this. EPCOT is just too darned big to be scampering back and forth across like some kind of crazed squirrel. Waiting in lines won't kill me. I waited in line for The Living Seas and Body Wars within months of their opening; I remember when the line for JII stretched outside the building. Today's lines are nothing compared to those; and now I have electronic devices to keep me entertained.

It's true. The only practical way to use FP in Epcot is to stock up as you go to use expired later in the day. Meeting windows is a near impossibility.

They let you up on those raised hills? Never tried!

It's only been in the past few years I've seen people hanging out there. I've been with off duty CM's and listened to them grumble about it. Those areas were never intended for people to be wandering about.

On the topics of the grassy knolls:)lookaroun), during my Epcot training, I was told that it is perfectly fine for guests to go on them.

I always go up on the grassy lofts anytime I need a good pic or to chill.

Plus, by Energy, it usually is great to see the Monorail pass by. :D

I happened to be in World of Motion plaza when it happened and looked at every frame from the 8mm home movie I took and thought I saw a shadow of the second Eisner on the hill, but it could have been a shrub from the Horizons entrance flower bed. :lookaroun

Good angles for pics of that, there, too!

I head that Eisner had a accomplice.

At EPCOT now, nothing major to report. Of note is that that single whirly-gig is still missing. The BGM is off in the offset circular section of MouseGear.

Here are the new Figment pins. I've got close-ups of the Dreamfinder and Dream Machine pins in the framed set, if anyone wants to see them. They're probably a little blurry, though. Otherwise, that's all there really is for the day. Hopefully some new work will start soon.
