Expedition Everest Ride Through.

The entire theming of the attraction would be ruined if the actual cars turned instead of a switchtrack. Think about this for a minute...you're on an old train...what rickety train's passenger cars spin??? If you are meant to feel like you're taking a tour of the mountain and Shangri-La...wouldn't you notice if the car your sitting in started to spin itself? If the theming was any different, I'd say that this is the way to go...but unless there is some "mystical" thing that happens in Shangri-La...I don't see this as "sticking with the theme."

They could theme the switchtrack into the ride as something important to get to...I would like that more than switching tracks and having no explanation for it...

exactly! Heck, the switchback could just represent a normal train's switch...at least it's not some "high tech" train who's cars have the ability to spin

I disagree. Consider this. The showroom for the Yeti is full of flashing lights, loud noises, etc... to make things disorienting and to seem like you're getting attacked (like Dinosaur). If there is a a turntable here, it would just add to the confusion... not some breakdown in themeing.

I agree with you. Spinning Cars seems totally wrong.

Anyways, how does Universal's Mummy accomplish the backwards portion? Could Everest be don the same way?

hhmmmm, glad i could make you laugh this morning.
Oh whoa...I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make it seem like I was laughing at your idea! I really wasn't...Actually, it's a very logical means of turning the direction!

I know it sounded like I was laughing at you...but I didn't mean to make it seem like that...it seems that everytime I post to Oz (objr) I throw in a "laughing" smiley.

Once again, I apologize sincerely for the misunderstanding.

well, then there would definitely need to be an area of complete darkness from the time you spin to the time you return to the regular position because I think people would notice (after you spin once) that the engine to the train is now in front of you and not behind you pushing.

It will essentially be the same effect as on the Maelstorm in Norway at Epcot.

That's exactly what I'm thinking...

and like the switch on Thunder Mountain.

aaahhhh that is fine....... i was playing as well. im not being to over sensitive. just playing as well. in post from last night, i hinted that people may laugh and that is only far.

i guess i have always been to the thinking that if i throw out even the craziest or obscene idea, it may spark someones imagination that can simplify that concept and maybe figure out the problem.
