Expedition Everest Video Ride Through.

O.k. So, you guys can't get the file to work, here is the video.

SPOILER
1) its o.k. quality
2) as best as I can get it...I would LOVE another WDWMagic'er (preferably one that is more local) to work in tandem on the project.
3) Data is taken from the Forbes Spread. Have it right in front of me. The only thing that isn't visible is the end...where I've put the track in the video in black. That's where the yeti is. And that's where Disney put 'mountain' facades up in the photo
4) There is no mountain. Again, if someone wants a fun project...you can insert 3DS into the file, and we could make a fun little ride out of it.

Have fun!

No, its a little confusing. My problem is, once we've switched out, we'll have to switch back in to the main track...won't we?

I confused.

That looks pretty cool to me.. I'm happy enough waiting for the ride to open to see how it's gonna work going backwards! It'll make it more exciting!

My only qualm with it is that we know that the train switches direction at the top of the lift hill, where the track ends in a "gnarled mass of metal". We also know that the train heads down the bit 80+ ft. drop in the forward direction (we can see that from the concept art). Seems like we must be missing some track at the top. It would be ridiculous for the train to switch directions at the top and then switch back 15 seconds later...awesome video, regardless, I just think there is more to this ride :) With all those helixes, it will have a rather long track and ride (the speed on this video is far more than we will really see...) this should be a nice long ride, and if they have 4 trains running at once, it'll have a nice capacity :)

correction

Corrections:
1) first lift hill is probably a chain. As I look harder at the Forbes Spread, that's what it looks like.

2) 2nd hill looks like LIM all the way up...so a 'launch' isn't accurate...I'll have to change that.

That looks like a long ride.

well, I'm correcting as we go, and some things don't make sense...but as we stand there are a few major corrections that are being made.

Hey, more pics, the merrier (newer) !

It is a steam engine so it makes sense that the lift will will be a nice, silent LSM lift hill like on California Screamin' :) The first lift hill will be a chain lift. The purpose of this is to give guests the feeling that they are on a more traditional coaster, with nice short drops, smooth turns, and nice scenery. Then things turn more sinister and high tech. It provides a nice transition to the high tech portion...I would imagine it will not go fast until after you enter Shangri-La :)

silent lift hill?

I guess that's relative... when I'm on screaming I hear the whoshje whoshje whoshje sound of pulsing something or other.

Talking about lift hills and launches and stuff makes me think and I'll pose this question (because I don't know too much about coasters)...is it possible to have a launched drop...in other words instead of being launched up...is it possible to be launched down?

:)

So...mountain...scary yeti...pushes the train over a cliff...train heavy....launched drop....makes for a fast descent....especially if it were backwards....:lookaroun
