This is good news. I hope they start making an effort to actively fix and maintain these attractions from now on. I know for a few years they were getting sloppy.

That "bad show" back side is still visible from the parking lot. WDI didn't add on some "villagescape" 200 feet up in the air in an effort to hide it from people parking their cars.

God bless the "Ignore" button.
The only time I went on EE everything was working but the waterfall (I think). Where the heck is this waterfall?

I'm not quite with you on this. Are you saying there isn't a village scene on the back of the mountain? I can assure you there is.

Heading for the great escape.
To ensure continued working of the effect could Disney not just construct a small platform beneath the mountain top and make it a designated smokers area, perhaps that would give it too much of a storm cloud look.

The back looks kinda like this...only I don't think this is the finished paint job. Still looking....

See - the mountain isn't really that tall. It's just your imagination! Or, well, really good WDI! And there is no "backside"....:ROFLOL:

There is also a snow effect, when your train goes over the small dip right after B lift ,there is supposed to be snow blowing across the track in front of you, it was only working during test and adjust, same with the lightening effect.

I went on Live Local, and that is the final paint job. The image shows a train going up the hill so unless they painted it while the ride was open, this is it. Also, I see no village scene in the images.

The backside was painted twice after it was opened I believe. Initially it was painted a rust red/brown to match the rockwork on the mountain from a pic I remember seeing. It was better than the plain beige wall, but still looked like a painted wall.

Later, it was repainted light brown again with a "forced" village painted on the wall. This was done AFTER the ride opened. The black boxes you see in Lee's pics are meant to represent windows. The horizontal black lines are the tops of the buildings. From a distance (specifically the AK parking lot), it does look like a village built into the side of the moutain. A complete mountain would have been nice, but for the cost and the limited views available of the backside from outside the park, what they have done works well imo.

The worst angle is from atop Blizzard Beach. I saw it from there shortly after it opened when it was just a plain beige wall, but I have not been back to BB since it opened to see if the new village-scape works well from that distance as well.

Glad to see the mist is back at the top! :sohappy:

Sorry for the confusion. I was thinking by "village scene," you meant a constructed, themed add-on to the back of the mountain to make it look natural, for example something like this on the back side:

Yes, they have done some painting, but no-one is going to mistake that for anything but a backstage area and show building. It's not like Thunder or Space Mountains which are themed 360 degrees.

Thanks for all these pics! EE is probably my favorite attraction in all of WDW.
Cannot wait to go back and ride it again... but not on Tuesday, unfortunately.
