If there is only one animatronic, what are these "show pieces" we keep hearing about?
Where do you keep hearing about "show pieces."

Are the voices in your head acting up again.

I meant show scenes. Sounds like I need some sleep  Read that on the front page of WDWMagic.

I'll take the second part as a joke....

When it comes to audio on Everest. I could see maybe, them recording some kind of chanting beat or whispers for the temple.. As for the mountain, wind and just animal noises?

Joe Rhodes had stated in his interview (which i think is on wdwmagic) that they will try to recreate the sound of those himlayan mountain villages, in particular; the inescapeable sound of bells everywhere, bells the are hung around the neck of animals/livestock. There are many differents kinds of bells, perhaps a different sounding bell for each different animal/livestock?,.. im not sure. But i remember from the interview that these bells made an impression on Joe.

I am greatly anticipating the atmosphere of the entire village surrounding the mountain. I bet it's going to be beautiful, and you will feel totally submerged into your surroundings!

I can't wait to see how photogenic the entire area is, especially the mountain towering over this small village!

I REALLY hope we see the return of Streetmosphere at DAK, because they always add that extra flare to an area! (A Yeti expert or a crazed sighter of the Yeti, a professional 'mountaineer' claiming to have scaled mt. everest, a lost person from an expedition tour group, or just the village people (not the group that sings YMCA either.. :lookaroun)

The "return" of streetmosphere to DAK? Its funny I've always said that having streetmosphere would add a lot, while not even realizing they ever actually had it(aside from Chester and Hester). It sounds vaguely familiar now... I could be wrong but were there actors in the African village at one point?

Anyway, I do completely agree I'd love to see streetmosphere added back to the park... Including the Everest area (all of your suggestions for that area are great btw!)

Yeah, its going to be really cool. The only thing im worried about is the hundreds of people that are always going to be there. I hope the crowds dont ruin the expierence.:(

Yeah, I remember the scientists in Dinoland, and the mayor of Harambe.

I Saw Everest At Night!!!

I saw it!! What all of yous have finally been waiting for, I finally will give you a chance to see what Everest looks like at night. Okay, sure, it looks really weird and different from the usual, but it is AWESOME!!! The Imagineers did a great job for the lighting today, and it's great. Here is the visual picture:

The lights are all in the back and in the center of the mountain, with no lights WHAT SO EVER on the front! It formed a GIANT shadow on the whole outline of the mountain, from the bottom to the top peak at the center. It creates a giant shadow over the whole mountain, and creates a sense of foreboding and darkness...and it makes it look a LOT bigger!! With the lack of lighting on the mountain, I suspect that the ride experience during the night will be different during the day. This ride is gunna be AWESOME!!! :sohappy: :sohappy:

I don't know, but the picture painted in my head says not to finish it because it sounds freakin' sweet!

When did you see it at night though? EMH for AK at night is on Tuesday this week... :lookaroun

LOL, I went by there at night because I take the back road near AK because it leads to 192 and to near my house....I was at a high school meeting, and when I went by there, I remembered bout the lighting, and I looked, and I saw. Yeah, I thought that it was weird that the lighting wasn't on fully....but then I remembered that Lee said it was to have an errie look, and the blackness was pretty errie, and so, I took that in mind and it looks like that's what it is...

Isn't it possible that the mountain is dark because they haven't finished the lighting yet?

Also maybe it is just work lights in the back of the mt and not the final lighting! It seems strange not to light the front! The front is what you see from far away. to not light the front don't make sense to me. That is like not lighting the front of the tree of life and only lighting the back! Just my opinion!

Maybe it is dark because it won't be open at night! If they get rid of EMH it will close at 6 pm again!

Maybe it depends on what you call the front of the mountain. I call the front where the train enters and exits the mountain. If you are going up the main lift then you facing the front of Everest and that is the section that is lit up right now. I'm sure they will light up the sides later.

Streetmosphere sounds great! I would love it if some guy in a backpack and torn clothes ran up to my family yelling "I SAW IT! The yeti, he attacked me!! I barely escaped! BEWARE OF THE YETI!!". I think it would halairius!
