Trip Report Everything Is Just So Peachy Keen! *COMPLETED*

It certainly was for us Georgia peaches this last week! For those who may be new here, let us introduce ourselves. We are Tuvalu and Em, a mother-daughter duo who love traveling together to Walt Disney World. We take multiple trips per year (this was our third for 2022) and for us, time spent at our resort is just as important to us as time spent in the parks. Slow-paced relaxation is vital to us!

I’m sure this laid-back vibe is what draws people to cruises: pools, bars, a variety of restaurants and activities from which to choose . I can’t do ships. But I can happily “land cruise” at WDW!

Hope you decide to follow along and learn about the surprises on our most recent voyage.

They are in the garden with Rabbit but can be seen only when the blinds are raised. For reference Rabbit is near the back of the restaurant and the others are spaced from the front down to him. I searched online for a picture of the window side of the restaurant and this is the best I could find. The window below is the first window in the front. I’ve never sat near any of the window tables which reveal the other garden statues.

Ooooohhhhh, thank you for sharing! I knew I’d seen more than one statue over the course of my dining there, I didn’t realize they were all different animals, though!! I’m going to need a rabbit statue outside my (tiny) stately manor!!

We entered the room and discovered it had only ONE bed, not the two queens we expected.

Oh, we were still in South Florida.

Ba-dum bum! (I’m a month late but couldn’t resist.)

Saturday, July 23

Guests with a split stay are able to use the amenities of their current resort even after 11 am check out time, provided they have not “checked in” to their next resort. This meant that Em and I could have chosen to spend another day at Stormalong Bay.

As much as we had enjoyed our time there yesterday, we were ready to head to our “home pool.”

The Wilderness Lodge has always been our favorite resort to stay in during the holidays. The decorations can’t be beat! But since the 2017 total rebuild of the quiet pool….and the addition of Geyser Point Bar and Grill….we LOVE to stay here in summer too.

I had checked in online weeks ago and this morning received the Your room is not quite ready text. We stopped at the Front Desk anyway to have our MagicBands recoded for our new resort. We wouldn’t have been able to enter through the pool gate without doing so.

Wilderness Lodge (and also, Animal Kingdom Lodge) are the best-themed hotels on Disney property. I always love your photos when you stay at Wilderness Lodge.

Hmmmm, there seems to be a problem here.

Where’s the waterfall?!!

For the record there was no water going over the falls in mid-June either.

I wasn’t aware central Florida was in the midst of a six week drought!

We continued on. No biggie. We weren’t planning to swim in the falls.

The gates were locked. Main pools at deluxe resorts don’t open until 10am. Main pools have lifeguards; quiet pools do not and open at 7am.

The quiet pool was quite quiet.

MUST BUY towel clips!! Not necessarily Olaf but towel clips are a “WDW Must have.”

Ohhh I NEED one of those cups with that lid!!

While the lids are cute, they are impractical. They are hard to secure on the cup and can leak, causing a dribbling mess.

We much prefer the lids on the old refillable mugs. Function > form.

MUST BUY towel clips!! Not necessarily Olaf but towel clips are a “WDW Must have.”

They sure make it easy to spot your loungers and prevent towel slippage and blowing in the wind!
