I found 3 pics of track that are now sitting in the backstage areas of AK ready for installation into Everest. Here are the links to these photos as well as two of the support wall:

I want to give the appropriate thanks, since I did not take these pics, to members over at ioacentral.com: KrakenKing for supplying the pics and CoasterNole for hosting them at his site.

uh oh

something's wrong here  . We have Universal Studios sites showing pics of Disney attractions being built that we have not even seen yet. That's like the team you hate stealing your playbook!

Oh well, great job at least taking it off of their site and showing it to all of us! :sohappy:

Can anyone confirm that it is the new type of Vekoma track that has been rumoured?

I can't really make it out from those pictures.

You all are welcome for the pics... heh. Anyways, um... yes, the track is Vekoma track (Gags) if you have any more questions, please ask, I'll try to answer them as best I can. Oh, and by the way, I won't be able to get any new pics of the ride, won't be using that back road anymore. Sorry :brick:

How is this spam? Florida Thrills was the server for the files, and the remark that it was a "Universal website" was clarified.

Here's your spam :D :

ah, but it was strongly rumoured that Vekoma have developed a new smoother type of track, as well as moving the side wheels to the outside like B+M and Intamin.

Does anyone know if there is truth in those rumours? Please say it is so.

Well, I dunno if it'll nessacerally be any smoother with the wheels on the outside of the track. Togo (If I'm not mistaken) Has their wheels on the outside of the track, and people can't stand their coasters. Also, Flying Unicorn at Islands of Adventure is built by vekoma, it has its wheels on the outside of the track, and its very rough still. B&M and Intamin use Springs as shocks to keep the wheels to the track at all times, that is why their coasters don't rattle around as much as others... Vekoma and Arrow coaster wheels don't even touch the tracks at all times, hence the banging around.

Boy, must be one of the entertainment or AP CMs or something cause the only reason I am allowed to drive back there is because of package pickup / hotel delivery...

Hey guys!

Hey guys! I haven't posted in forever! Anyways, I wanted to ask somebody to explain what all the fuss was about the Vekoma or whatever track is about. And what type of roller coaster is Everest supposed to be again? Could someone please remind me?

Well, If you're not into coasters that much... there are different companys that build them (Of course...) and some are liked more than others.

B&M and Intamin are known for their silky smooth rides. Where as Vekoma and Arrow (Before they went out of buisness) are known for their rough rides that bang your head against the restraints or hurt your legs/arms... ect.

This coaster is going to be built by Vekoma, so there is a high chance that it will be reather rough, even for a non-looping coaster.

The type of coaster it is going to be is a regular sitdown coaster like Big Thunder Mountain.

Hope this clears things up.

I know Vekoma has a poor "track" record (PUN INTENDED!), but since they are desiging a brand new track for this type of ride, isn't there a chance it could run smoother?

Also, Disney has a partnership with Vekoma, so I think they are required to use them as a company.

One last question, does Vekoma simply build the coaster, while Imagineering designs the layout and theming? or does Vekoma build and design the coaster and Imagineering designs theming?
