Forget about that' In the Imagineering Field Guide to Disneyland Rocket Rods is listed as a "fondly remembered attraction".
I remember it very fondly.
I thought it was a ton of fun, especially at night...racing over the lagoon and through TL...loved it.
Few more million, and it would have been the envy of every other TL.

It looked pretty cool.

How long was it open for? 2 years?

I was always very intrigued by Rocket Rods for a few reasons:

The queue looked to be one of the best ever.

I loved the back story to the attraction. The new Tomorrowland Rapid Transit being part of the 50 years of Tomorrowland transportation. It was original and not character based. Remember when Disney did those type of attractions?

I would have loved seeing Disneyland's Tomorrowland from the viewpoint of the attraction.

It appeared to be a wonderful update of the People Mover. Thrill aspect, but keeping the same theme and expanding upon it.

I hate I never got to experience it in person.

Or, when they would create NEW CHARACTERS, just for a attraction?

I miss that creativity.

Right. When I say characters, I'm not talking about new characters that are attraction specific. To me, attractions that feature original characters are not "character based attractions" as we think of them. They are "original attractions" and that is something we just don't see anymore.

Me too!!!(Well not fudge)
I was kind of put off last trip when we were told we needed to finish our snacks before getting on.
We've always had snacks on it...guess you have to be sneaky about it :lookaroun

I've been known to buy a frozen Mocha-something from Aunty Gravity's and sneak onto TTA with it in a bag.:lookaroun

Agreed. I know exactly what you are referring too.

I was just implying characters like Figment, Dreamfinder and the gang as ORIGINAL characters.:D

You all need to watch The Thrill Seekers: Episode 4 to really understand this. It's actually become a Disney tradition for me and my family. We now always get fudge from the Confectionary and eat it on TTA. It's sad that I won't be able to the next time I go. Now I have to find a new ride to eat fudge on. Any ideas?

I like Martin's idea. Take over the theater (3D films have lost their appeal, every park has one now) and make the longest dark ride ever. I'd like a ride that eats people quickly because of the constantly moving omnimover and is nice and long telling a full story. The current verision just sort of ends. It's like they couldn't think of a way to finish the story so they decide to just have Figment hijack the ride, show you his house and then drop you off.

I could go for a nice 10+ minute ride with Figment and the next Dreamfinder (not necessarily Dreamfinder himself).

Nah ..How about all of the original first floor area and large part of 2nd floor :)
That should give you about a 15 minute ride .:sohappy:
