However, on the positive note, we could hear the full finale music (The Battle Hymn of the Republic) better than in previous years for those who watch the show in front of WSL. When the finale was taken in the middle of the lagoon in previous years, we couldn't hear much of the chorus finale at the end.

I noticed recently they stopped doing the b mode for the world showcase perimeter pyro when it's disabled due to weather, tonight was one example.

Ah thanks! That really does seem to take a lot out of it. But there have been intense storms later in the evening recently. I'm a bit surprised they didn't have a lighting-based back up.

I think it's somewhat unrelated.

There also isn't the single comet pyro during the end of When She Loved Me/Remember Me in the Loss section (which uses the same effect) when B-mode is supposedly not active.

So imo it's that they shut off those comets due to weather conditions instead of stopping B-mode altogether. Plus I'm pretty sure I saw a livestream last week and it was in B-mode.

They seem to be inconsistent with it. I guess they must not load it in unless they are planning for it in advance.

In the video, it is seen that the countries still illuminate and the torches turn on as the "welcomes" are heard from around the world. I'd consider that a back up.

Yes. I should have clarified. An additional effect, as those happen in the normal show. You normally have 3 effects vs just the two. But I can see the thinking of 2 being enough. It's just lacking something in the lagoon itself.

Yeah I believe they only load B-mode if present conditions are unfavorable. That's why sometimes we see nights with perfect weather with B-mode.

But if they load A-mode in the morning but than the weather becomes unfavorable later, there is no B-mode to fallback on. It's a different strategy than DL does with Wondrous Journeys (when they used to do B-mode) where they always load B-mode, so the show can fallback to it dynamically anytime during the show.

But then there are times when they don't run the comets at all, which I guess was tonight. The horse tails were turned off also.
I've noticed the levers are
Horsetails > Comets > Center Barge > 6 Big Barges > Outer Barges > No pyro

Anyone think Harmonious would stayed if the barges were moved in and out of the lagoon or if had it done that it still would be removed.. Just curious in opinions just because Luminous itself contains IP songs in it. Yes I know it will be criticized still for not being able to see the center from other angles...but lets say for example there wasn't a ring in the center. Thoughts?

It probably would have had better guest feedback during the day, but the ultimate driver might have been the poor viewing angles at various dining locations and the high maintenance costs.

I use to critique Harmonious for not having some countries represented. I admired the Middle East part and it was titled Middle East it had Arabian flair as well as India flaire. So doing each continent was a cool thing. However when it came to Asia they just instead called it the China section..it should of at least had some Japanese instrumental touches mixed and few parts sung in Japanese, the Japan pavilion is right there wheras India and Africa aren't even at Epcot.

Same feeling with Luminous they did a cool trio mashup of three languages in "You'll Be In My Heart" yet I just ask why China everytime. If because the Chinese and French would blend flawlessly along the English was what made them come in factor with that. Why not Japanese and French and English for a change. It's like Chapek has a commitment with China that it will represent Asia in Harmonius and now that that's gone it will in Luminous. Harmonious had Italian not sure Luminous has Italian.. Italian with French and English could be beautiful as well.

I'm not saying here that oh you say China is there always but what about Spanish with Coco again and French was in Harmonious. China was used more than once in Harmonious in "How Far Will I Go and Reflection's. It's almost like China and French are presented as Disneyland Paris and Shanghai Disney and or HK. Japan is ORL company so their separate so oh we don't need to element japan other than in pre-show or post show music..

If I'm being honest I would loved more Luminous if few phrases in one song switched between different languages, at least the ones that are present at World Showcase.. but maybe it's too much.. well the Welcome section is honored.

Sorry for the rant. ; p
