Epcot World Showcase Drinks

Nuvo (sparkling vodka) from France. Just had this for the first time last week and it packs a pretty powerful punch even though it looks like pink champagne.

Peach Snap in China.

Sommerfest beer in Germany.
Frozen Margarita in Mexico.

And if you are up for it, Irish Car Bomb in UK. You have to drink it pretty fast though or it will curdle. Tastes like chocolate milk!

I had a few at Yankee stadium last month, it made Disney's prices look like those at a townie bar.

I spent about $40 on beer at a Yankee game last month. It bought me enough booze to not even really get buzzed. And that was drinking Miller Light. It made stop gawking at my local bars charging $4 for a Coors Light.

With drinking around Epcot you are at least spending the 7-8 bucks on imported beers and the price is about equal to drinking them in NYC or the nicer bars around my area.

I always knew my 1st post on here would involve alcohol... :lookaround:

Expect to reasonably spend about $100 on alcohol during your time Around the World. With food you'll spend about $150 or so. It's not an inexpensive day but it'll provide a lot of fun memories. Pending you can remember them. :ROFLOL:

I'm sure that it was in Germany...I did it in April of last year so they may not have it anymore but I do vividly remember having a lemonade type drink mixed with alcohol which we purchased from the outside counter (with the Bier sign hanging above it). Unfortunately I don't remember the name of it.

I have to believe you because I wasn't there I was just almost positive that there aren't mixed drinks in Germany; beer and wine only.

I'm usually good with my alcohol - I could be wrong though, i don't know

My girlfriend and I have an entire drinking tour planned for when we go back this Christmas. It starts at DHS, works its way through the Boardwalk area, into the World Showcase and then to the monorail resorts. There are A LOT of places, especially in WS, don't leave out the kiosks. Moosehead Lager in Canada is very good.

 I wanna go with you just to watch! That's quite a challenge. When you're at BW get a pineapple upside down cake martini from the Belle Vue Room:slurp:. Epcot I must say ALL the margaritas from the new cave:sohappy:. We also enjoy a shandy from Rose and Crown on a hot day.

OMG OMG OMG they have car bombs there? i will spend my whole night there, those go down soooooo smooth and taste just like chocolate milk, i can drink so many cuz they barely taste like alcohol but it will hit you after a few of them haha
Is this drink still on the menu. I find it deeply offensive. As someone who has lived through the terrorism experienced in Northern Ireland and the U.K. I am deeply appalled that a drink named car bomb or Irish car bomb would be served anywhere never mind wdw property.

It is an offensive name for a drink (or anything for that matter) but yes it is a common drink here and you can get it at any bar in WDW.

That drink was poured in 2011. Best not to drink it at this point...

I have done this a couple times and I want to give you a heads up. You’ll be drunk. The most recent time I did this I had the following:

Started in Germany at Octoberfest for dinner, gotta fill that belly, at about 4:30, had a couple beers. (2) Then we went to China for a dessert drink, the Tipsy Duck, which I highly recommend (3). We skipped Norway, not sure why but found ourselves getting a Shot in La Cava de Tequila in Mexico. Tres Generaciones to be precise with the salsa chaser (4). Avoid the Marg here if your goal is the world. Too much sugar and calories. Eat a taco or tostada while you head to Canada. Trust me it helps. By now you’re loose and hungry.
In Canada get a beer (5). We got a Molsen or a Moosehead or something like that. Then to the pub in England for a Snakebite(6). Listen to the band here. Great vibes. We had another (7). Off to France where while if it’s early you’ll need to get the Orange Slush, we instead made the poor decision of adding wine to the mix. A red wine (8) which we washed down with a Sangria (9) in Morocco.
Things start to get fuzzy now but I know for a fact we drank at the Sake bar in the back of the store in Japan. I’ll say I only had two Sakes (10,11) but I’m not sure. In the United States I sprung for a Budweiser (12) over a Sam Adam’s to save a buck. I know. Silly decisions.
On the way to Italy we got distracted, another group of travelers of the opposite sex had joined up with us in America and it had slowed us down. With about 30 minutes to go we had little time to waste. We all scurried along to Italy where I got a Chianti...I think (13). The girls quit there as they wanted to watch the fireworks. But we knew we had about 15 minutes left to accomplish the feat. We ran (bad idea) to Norway and got a shot of Aquavit (14). We downed it as the first fireworks went off. We had made it by mere seconds. My buddy was the second to last person served in Norway.
I don’t remember how I got back to Pop Century that night but I found my buddy at the pool there. Post Fireworks there is about an hour gap. Obviously this was in my pre married and pre kids days. It’s an endeavor. One which I will only do again by starting at noon, and only having the one drink per country.
Ahhh good times.

It’s definitely worth it. I look back fondly at each time I have done it.

The ‘car bomb’ and the ‘black and tan’ are both drinks with names people will find offensive, to put it in context how would Americans feel drinking a 9/11 or a Bin Laden cocktail?

Disney should be using less offensive names for these, especially if they have instigated other changes for causing offence to people.

I’ve seen them called a ‘Dublin drop’ and a ‘mixed’ respectively and would prefer a name like this

Black and tan refers to the colors/type of beer. Nothing offensive about that. Just like a Blue Hawaiian, Yellow Bird, Red Sangria, Purple Nurple, White Russian, Red/white wine.....

Maybe 'car bomb' refers to the Ford Pinto.

I'm sure alcohol was involved in the naming of that drink... as we all know, people don't exhibit the best judgement after a few of those drinks.

There are several alternate names, but not much more palatable. Eschewing those, I'd probably call it an Irish Boilermaker.

Considering the beers that go into it, it's difficult to ignore the historical political implications of the name.

In Ireland & the UK the black and tan has another historical meaning which some people find offensive being used as the name for a drink that’s why you wouldn’t hear it called by that name here
