Is it faster to get to DHS from EPCOT by walking/boat or taking the bus? I've heard the boat goes about the same pace as walking. I assume it's still faster than bussing it because the busses aren't all that fast. Thanks.

If you can walk at a good pace that is your best bet. However, if you take the boat and it all goes in a best case scenario (no waiting at the docks etc), the boat will win in most cases.

Walking can work if you walk at a decent pace as Steve said. I have found the bus to be the better choice of transportation though if you are not inclined to walking.

I would say No to the bus, unless you're at the front of Epcot at the time. Otherwise, walking or boat are probably a toss us. I prefer the walk...it's a nice little walk right along the water.

The Friendship cruise is a really nice ride, take it if you can, we always do! Of course walking is also enjoyable.

If you take the shortcut through the Boardwalk pool area, walking is most likely faster. The walk is pleasant and easy, but not short, though, and after already walking around Epcot and planning to continue walking around DHS, I usually opt for the boat.

The boat is about the same as walking but only if there is no wait. I've waited upwards of 30 minutes when the line was two boats long... I could've walked there in that time!

The boat is a pleasant opportunity to get off your feet for a while if you are lucky enough to walk right on.

Yup, usually takes 20-25 minutes. Walking usually takes that same amount of time. I'm not sure about the bus though. My guess is longer.

On my last day of my last trip I park hopped like mad, and I went from Epcot to the Studios via bus (because I forgot about the boat. :hammer:) and I got super lucky and only waited a few moments for a bus, and was at the studios in 15 mins.

I imagine that was a pretty lucky shot.

Walking is definitely the fastest and most direct. I'm fairly certain I could swim there faster than the Friendship boat. Sooo slow...so many stops...very annoying. If you don't feel like walking an extra mile the bus isn't bad. It has the best air conditioning out of the three options. This is usually the deciding factor for me certain times of the year.

The boat is painfully slow. I wish they had a DHS-Epcot express boat, but I'm sure they have good reasons ($$$) not to do so. You could beat it by walking if you were brisk enough.

I used the boat from HS to EPCOT a couple of weeks ago. I too get very frustrated with all the stops. The trip isn't too bad until you get to Swan & Dolphin where all the stops begin. We got off at the first stop after Swan & Dolphin (can't remember where that was), and easliy beat the boat to EPCOT. This worked out well. We had a chance to get off our feet for a few minutes and the walk wasn't that long to EPCOT.

If you don't have to wait too long for the Friendship at DHS, this is the fastest way. Go multimode. Take the Friendship to Boardwalk, and then get off and walk.

You could also walk from the Swan/Dolphin but that has you on the other side of the river, and you have to cross over and then cross again. I think you save a few minutes by taking it to the Boardwalk stop.

It really depends on where you are and where you want to get to.

I've found that walking is quicker than the boat but there's not much in it so if there's a wait I walk and if not I'll often catch the boat.

As for the bus. If you're in WS or the back of FW (or want to get there) then the boat is quicker but if you are in or want to get to the front of Epcot then the bus is quicker.

It's a surprisingly short walk. I know from running the marathon, it's literally a few minutes from the front gate of HS to Epcot backstage behind England. I walked it at night from Swan to Epcot, slow pace, stopping along the beach at Y&BC along the way and it took less than 15 minutes.

I could be wrong about this, but I don't think so.

The buses between the Studios and Epcot, drops off/picks up at the front of Epcot, yes?

So if you're going from the Studios to Epcot, you should factor where in Epcot you'd like to go before deciding on which mode of transportation. If you wanted to go to Spaceship Earth, Innoventions, UoE, M:S, it may be faster tsaking the bus vs. boat or walking (especially depending on how fast your party can move it).

And going from Epcot to the Studios, if you're closer to the main entrance, that may still save time versus walking through Future World to the International Gateway and then walk or boat from there.
