I work over at the S&D and we just got an internal call to alert our cast to alert the guests that they will be testing pyro tonight at Epcot up until 2:00am at the latest. I am assuming they are running the 25th tag tonight if you are in the area might want to keep a look out.

They usually start these test about an hour after park clear which is usually 10:30ish so I am thinking between 11:15 - 12:30 should be about right, I don't know if they are going to run it more than once or not.

Martin hopes on the off chance the S&D Webcam captures some pyro shooting off SSE in the short capture window it operates in......

I have something at the Magic Kingdom tonight until 11:30. Hopefully, I can see it on the way home.

Also, I think they were working on SSE last night because the top had light coming out of it when I passed it around 5:30 this morning.

Anything you can report would be gratefully received - and by top of SSE, you mean the very top, as if the hatch was open??

Maybe they're giving it the Luxor treatment?

Yeah, I saw the hatch open up there, too, a couple of weeks ago, on my way home from work late at night. There was some kind of work light in there that made me able to see it.

Yeah, according to the webcam, there was light coming from the top of SSE at around 2:30 last night.

is there any chance?

Is there any chance of anyone seeing the test.. or do they make everyone leave the park before the test happens?

They are done long after the park is closed to day guests. You'd have to be a cast member to be able to see it. Unless you were in a nearby location (the parking lot, Yacht and Beach, BoardWalk, etc) and they were high enough. You just wouldn't be able to hear the music and see what was happening on the water.

Up at the tippy-top of SSE last week there was .. something .. that was sticking out of the very top. Like a black pole or cylinder or something. My friend and i both noticed it and thought maybe it was for rappelling down and cleaning SSE - as the sphere is noticeably cleaner.
