I was driving past late last night and saw this, sorry for the small pic, it was from my camera phone.

Up at the tippy-top of SSE last week there was .. something .. that was sticking out of the very top. Like a black pole or cylinder or something. My friend and i both noticed it and thought maybe it was for rappelling down and cleaning SSE - as the sphere is noticeably cleaner.

Martin has a pic of the hatch open with a black pole up top, I think it's in the massive Spaceship in Spaceship Earth thread.

I'm at CBR and I just watched some of the test fireworks. I'm no fireworks expert, but they looked nice and they were colorful. They are only doing one firework every couple minutes or so.

This is likely completely unrelated, but I stayed at the Polynesian last night and received a message on my phone that said they'd be running a pyrotechnics test at the Magic Kingdom from 11pm until 8am each night until Saturday. Any idea what that is?

Got a resort wide message on my room phone (pop) saying there'd be testing tonight for a special presentation at EPCOT- I guess to be sure guests don't panic and I figured I'd keep a look for it. I got back from Downtown Disney around 11:30 and by scootering over to the abandoned Legendary side could see the fireworks. They were shooting off one every few minutes - nothing continuous - and I stayed there for about 30 minutes or so - but when nothing went off for several minutes, I went back to my room. Saw some pretty ones - I can't wait to see it. I saw maybe 15 at most - though some of them I only heard and really didn't see much

When I passed about 45 minutes ago, the spotlights around the lagoon were all pointed up to the center of the lagoon...like they do in Illuminations to show unity. Other than that, nothing to see.

I did however get to ride Space Mountain 3 times with the lights on, and I managed to take a decent video. I'll try to get it up on Youtube.

There were a lot of nice and many different types of shells and a lot I never even seen before. It seemed like there was 2 of every type. They were just test firing them just one at a time about 30 seconds to a minute apart. I heard that will have about 900 shells go in about 3-4 minutes, they will have the WWIII barge fully stocked. And they are supposed to a couple of "surprises" at the end but right now it is a "secret"
