"Epcot Promenade Stucture" removal

Yes, because they were previously members of WDWMAGIC, spammed to promote their site constantly, didnt like it when I told them to stop, and made lots of threats about how they were going to "destroy" WDWMAGIC. So I'm not interested in promoting their site.

Oh. Thanks for informing us of this. I know they got rid of some folks so maybe that was the reason. Well done as usual Steve.

Thanks again for this site.

I don't know if it was ever confirmed (Martin, you know anything?), but I'd read somewhere that the motors in the whirley-gigs around Epcot were the motors from the Radok screen.

Might've just been pure speculation by whoever posted it, though.

Something I`ve not heard myself, but seeing how the Radok screen was ripped apart, plus the issues with the motors that they had I doubt it.

Plus keeping motors for 3 1/2 years as a `just in case` dosn`t sound like Disney of the late 90`s. IMO.

I think my photo rendering just gave EPCOT Explorer something that starts with an "o" and ends with an "m".
 Shove off...
I don't think the SSE signs are "tube" lighting. I think they're more like some of those cool looking "EXIT" signs where the LEDs shine onto a mirror/glass panel to create the effect.

Something like this:
180px-Glass_exit_sign.jpg
Ah, yes, that could work...And the glass would look very classy.
Since we are deeply immersed in Innoventions Plaza discussion what do you think they should do with the BGM. I would suggest incorporating the theme from the Innoventions web site into the mix somehow but they better not touch Papillon
It's fine. One of my favorite loops...It works well for the area.

Of course, I am ALL for putting retro music into the BGM, ala TL's current loop.

It's not that I dislike the neon (besides the color), but a couple of things count against it: first, I think the Plaza mostly lit by the internal glow of CommuniCore was much more lovely, interestingly almost a reversal of the natural lighting inside the pavilion during the day. Second, while it's still a nice form of lighting, I think neon now suggests a bit of outdatedness, or at least indicative of modern times, definitely not something you want in Future World. Why do neon with all of the new, cutting-edge, exotic, beautiful lighting that Disney would have access to, stuff that no one would hardly see anywhere else?
Ah, well stated. I like the CCore "outward" light idea.

WOW...Never knew that! Sheesh...Makes me a little less friendly to their website.:zipit:

OK, folks. Let the rampant speculation begin...

Two filings by WDI with the county today... One was a Space Mountain Graphics Package, no big surprise there.

But the other one might be of some interest: "Epcot Promenade Structure Removal Package".
Hmmmmmm.......

Does anyone keep a list of the "street addresses" within Epcot? It's listed as 1400 Avenue of the Stars. (Cross-referencing that with another filing from last week, 1440 AotS is one of the Innoventions buildings, wherever the IBM exhibit is...)

Normally when I think of "Promenade" I think World Showcase. But with an "address" so close to Innoventions, I'm thinking this is Future World.

Could this be the tarps coming down?
Could this be the demise of the stage? (Though if it were the stage, it probably would have said "stage")

Is there anything else anyone can think of that might be coming down along the "promenade"? Food & Wine Festival is coming up, but usually they're putting things up, not removing them...
If it's World Showcase, maybe it's the beginning of the long-rumored demolition and replacement of the outdoor Cantina in Mexico?

One other point, they used the term "removal", not "demolition", which they usually use when they're taking out something fairly permanent. (Like the "partial demolition" of the Tomorrowland skyway station)

Thoughts?

-Rob
I would yhink that it's the Tarps.

Have you been to EPCOT lately!?:D

You did break the UoE Painting story....:lookaroun:lol: You could be out aesthetics correspondent!

I know, and that was freaking exciting, too. 'OMFG, the Internet is going to effing explode.' I don't think my jaw could drop any lower if I saw Walt himself walking around the park whistling New Horizons, or going to Imagination and seeing Dreamfinder beating the snot out of Nigel Channing.

I think I am about due for some time at the great love, though. :D

I have always thought that Nigel Channing could be DF's student or something...:lookaroun:lol:

You know I was wondering why they painted that breezeway such a garish green color but now it seems to be a hint for a possible HULK tie-in :sohappy:

Did UOE go back to its original scheme or is it something different now?
