Hello everyone! I am a newbie here, and I thought I would begin with posting an general EPCOT update.
- Yes, the FG & F is over for yet another year. Which means WOL (and its previous greatness) isn't open again. :fork:
- Noticed the Innoventions BGM did not played around the entire area that morning. It was playing by midday, though.
Probably an audio malfunction??
- Interestingly, there was refurbishing activity on the walkway to The Land pavilion. The retro brown tiles seem to be replaced
with a green scheme similar to the Soarin' concourse theming. I was in a hurry, and they finished half of the walkway. I have
photos, but they are a bit blurry. Here are two of them. The first one's good, the second one is one of those "blurries".
- The Imagination pavilion was eerily quiet - as usual We pretty much had a whole chain of ride vehicles by
ourselves. Is it true the props in the queue, (the crystal balls, various "junk") came from the first incarnation of the
attraction? And anything else in the current attraction? I believe the Figments at the end are the originals??
- My mom had a First Aid issue and was rushed to the Odyssey. So we were there for 3 hours as my mom lie on a bed in a
dimly light "cubicle", as I now refer to it. Curse heat exhaustion!! But I do give a shout out to the paramedic/security tech to
help us to the Odyssey. Pushing my mom on a wheelchair from the Imagination pavilion to the Odyssey in an index heat of
106 degrees was a feat of endurance. (On a related question, anyone know if the RN in First Aid are applied through WDW
Casting or from Memorial Hospital, it being the sponsor?)
- Left First Aid at 2:00pm with my mom feeling much better. We went straight to Club Cool for a refreshing drink. However, we
weren't the only people to think of the idea, obviously. Although a late lunch proved to be priceless, since lunch at the
Electric Umbrella left us with plenty of empty tables. But we left some time later to go back home for apparent reasons.
- Overall, the day was quite unusual. The main Soarin' line was 35 minutes at 9:30am and yet was at the beginning of the
entrance! So were the lines for Mission: Space and Test Track. As we were leaving, Spaceship Earth had a moderately
long line, which discouraged us to ride. Surprising since it usually is not lengthy around the early afternoon.
