EPCOT Entertainment cuts

Most lumberjack shows include log rolling, cutting a log with an axe on a log they are standing on, climbing a pole and cutting the top with an axe, throwing an axe, sawing through a log with a long saw but very little chainsaw action. It is usually in the form of a contest. I can't see it offered at night. They will need some sort of pool for the log rolling. There are traveling lumberjack shows that set up a pool for this where ever they go. I guess I never thought of it as Canadian culture. There are international contestants. It's fun to watch but it doesn't feel cultural to me. There is a weekend long festival about 20 minutes from where I live in Ohio.

This was my initial thoughts about what the program could be and I was also way off. I have seen fun lumberjack shows. Where is the log rolling with the good looking young whippersnappers? Those competitors have true talent. I am so underwhelmed by the MC. He sounds and holds himself very amateurish. I cannot believe they have performers that cannot hit the dang target with their axes. The space is not nearly large enough. They are actually on a covered stage! Dang! This is a miss in my book and I was open to something new. Too much flannel and not enough muscles!

No… Don't be that kind of person. Don't be the kind of person who "something and then puts a link somewhere else… Because then you're like the Trient walrus that hosts the lumberjack show… And you don't want to be known as a man who is famous for that?

Yes the British revolution performed yesterday. Beyond that I have not went back to any of my friends and asked what the deal is….

British Revolution, as of the last round of cuts, was indeed safe as was Mulch, Sweat & Shears. I too have heard whisperings regarding additional cuts in January so I am not sure what will happen then. I havent heard any specifc acts or parks, just that more cuts will be taking place. Marie

Hey! Take that back. Heehee

The first post on the link was to bring you back to the point where we already discussed British staying on this thread. It is also on their FB page indicating their sorrow over Kilter and other entertainment, acknowledging some year Disney will likely find another use for the venue they preform at now. At least their eyes are wide open.

The problem is people keep GOING to WDW no matter what is cut so effectively we are REWARDING TDO's behavior, If the gate dropped even 2% there would be absolute PANIC in the halls of TDO. It would be like a hawk in a flock of chickens.

Changing out the entertainment at Epcot is not unusual. Many of you may remember the Living Statues at Epcot. They appeared at a couple of different pavilions at the WS and also appeared at DTD for a period of time. It was a very popular act. The company that provided the performers also had similar shows in Las Vegas and other tourist destinations.

IMHO, as long as they replace the acts, I'm not going to be bothered. I know some will retort with losing "popular acts" or citing the lumberjacks, but actually think some churn and changing of the acts is a good thing. Especially if the new acts are something different that previous offerings.

And I don't like the lumberjacks either. They aren't a good replacement IMHO, but at least they are something new.
