Hadn’t that been heavily rumored for awhile?
The last time I was there wasnt all that long ago (after the menu change) and I had actually enjoyed it a lot. I had been to this show in late 1997 and I wasnt all that thrilled but with the changes I had seen recently, it was definitely something I would have done again. I hope that they do something to honor the resort and the spirit of the Polynesian Islands there though. It would be sad to lose that. Marie

FWIW, Hoop Dee Doo has always sold much better than Spirit of Aloha.
As per WDWMagic: Although not yet announced by Disney, the expectation is that the land occupied by the Luau Cove will be used for the long-rumored new Disney Vacation Club building.

They had better add to Poly’s facilities since they are adding rooms.
They needed to do that years ago when I last stayed there. I cant imagine what this would be like after the addition. Marie

I'm to the point where I really wish they wouldn't build or "improve" anything due to the complete abandonment of core principles of design that at one time set them apart.

I understand Spirit of Aloha going away and using that land for a resort expansion. But I was hoping they could develop a replacement show, perhaps something more culturally accurate and less touristy. It would be nice if this new building actually housed a new dinner show but I’m not holding my breath.

WDW guests have been complaining about DE for almost 6 months. “Suck it up! We will try to do better for the 75th!”
DLP guests would like the drone show to be more involved and a new version premieres 2 weeks into the celebration.
Nice to know how they feel about us.
