VoL is Voices of Liberty, not Voyage of the Little Mermaid.

A husband/wife duo of Broadway actors who moved here when COVID started and began making travelogue videos are both in the new cast and announced it on their social media. He’s done a whole lot of Broadway, most notably Jersey Boys, she holds the record for most performances in the Wicked ensemble.

Wait Nemo's coming back? Didn't some sight say that it was gone forever and they were tearing down scenery and the show was canceled?

And then didn't some say that if it did return they wouldn't use equity actors?

This is all very confusing - I thought big bad Disney was just using the pandemic as an excuse to cancel things and go cheap.

Aside from the two mentioned above, I also know Crush will be back. I have no idea beyond that, but my guess is that the main characters will return and the chorus will either be cut entirely or there will be fewer.

If they have the same number or MORE cast in this new rendition, I will personally send you $5.
(A bet I would be HAPPY to lose, btw!)

It’s my understanding that all of the main characters will be back, but the chorus of fishies and undersea friends will be smaller.

What I’m curious about is since the press materials specifically referenced Finding Dory, if we’ll get some new characters from that film to offset deletions.

And if you’ve ever heard her husband Jared sing before, you’d know there’s little doubt that he’ll eventually find his way over to Pioneer Hall when Hoop comes back to play Jim Handy. Classic baritone voice and he has the “look” for Jim.

Rehearsals for Nemo are starting back up. And VoL will be getting new costumes at some point. That’s literally all I know, but I figured I’d share.

Show was bloated as hell, so I'll take it. It was never like Festival, in which the entire show is just banger after banger. You never root for anyone to lose their job, but "Finding Nemo: Just the Hits" will be a welcome change.

Any idea what the costume program will look like

All I know is that my source saw a picture of a long sleeve men’s shirt that he “hoped was for the reject pile” because of the hideous pattern on it. He has no idea if it’s the final choice, or if it was one of many choices still being decided upon.

If the starfish and the shark still have singing roles... I don't see a lot of cuts being made to the show.

Altho, I can envision a lot of the background chorus puppets being relegated to projections...

The whole show was reimagined. The sets from the original show were torn down but the announcement about the new show was made some time ago now.

A lot of the original cast were axed and have not been recalled. Whilst it’s good for guests that the show is returning, it isn’t good for a lot of the long serving entertainment CMs who remain furloughed or out of work.
