I think this shows the "matter of taste" element though so many seem to disagree with. Cause I would say that RotR, FoP, and heck even Tron are at least in the conversation for many. You may not agree, but I believe they are the same "caliber" of attraction.

The replacement instead of expansion point is valid though and can be frustrating. That I grant.
I think the idea that Tron is comparable to the three I mentioned is utter madness. RotR is certainly in the conversation, but I think that attraction has enough dubious decisions at the conceptual level that it falls short. I’d actually argue MMRR is a superior attraction, and the closest Disney World has come to some of the great older rides.

Fair enough. ToT and Splash were two of my favorite rides all time though, and RotR is now my personal favorite. I don't think you get rides like those 3 too often. Maybe a better comp for Tron is something like Space Mountain or Big Thunder.

What we seem to be talking about here less a question of investment, which has increased, but the impact of a web of detrimental management philosophies and a less consistently exceptional imagineering team. The former includes a determination to replace rather than add, a focus on a very narrow range of IPs, and a fixation on thrill rides. The latter often manifests in an inability to create scenes in depth.

RotR is fun, but designers simply chose a bad setting for a dark ride - it’s a series of preshows followed by a ride through largely empty, aesthetically uninteresting, industrial rooms. There’s a case to be made for Tron as a slightly inferior Space, which was never one of Disney’s true masterpieces. Neither can approach Thunder.

Hey guys! Let’s all take five calm and deeeep breaths and move on from this conversation. Let’s bring the topic back to:

'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

WDI has made excellent attractions and terrible disasters in both decades, and the parks have all received improvement from these decades. There really isn’t much to fight about…

Disagree, but fair enough. I appreciate your perspective.

The real question is will Encanto be better than Primeval Whirl? ;)
