That's the thing. They should have never closed PW unless they were replacing it imminently.

Scrap metal prices were high during COVID and Disney was short on cash.

Except theh had to close ot for safety reasons, right? They couldn't get the parts to fix the attraction, so closed it officially during covid

I actually rode the same ride at a park in Kentucky last week... And as someone else said the ride manufacturer is still in business, they are still advertising the same model on their website.

I feel like we’re going to get some kind of closure date at D23. It may just be “Dinoland will be closing next year,” but I feel like it’ll be mentioned. My hope is that they announce a “Countdown to Extinction” event to give fans the chance to say goodbye to Dinosaur.

I highly doubt they'll give the closing date at d23. They'll probably give and opening timeline of Tropical Americas and then put the closing date either on the website or parks blog.

There was an earlier post from someone elsewhere that claimed the same thing months ago, and it just turned out the show building had always been a bit visible. I think it’s the same case here where someone’s looking for a change and just noticed a spot where the trees had been thin for a long time.

I agree, I really do hope they give fans advance notice of the the closure.

I was going to joke how Disney is really good at closing stuff but if they don’t give advance notice of this closure, they messed that up too.

Any sign Disney is actually going to build something new soon (even if it's a re-theme) is a win to me. That's how low my bar is for new projects at this point.

On a side note I'm actually really looking forward to Tropical Americas. I think Dinoland had some nice parts but overall just felt cheap and poor theming, not to mention the black paths and no shade made it awful in the summer.

Things can change, but the Tree of Life announcement was not Blue Sky, and the thought that it won't happen feels like massive wishful thinking. Brace for it to come.

It's not going to be about humans, other than the audience. It would probably be a touch weird in Hollywood Studios, constantly talking about wildlife.

Totally agree.

Has it been discussed that they’re calling it Tropical Americas and not Latin America? Feels like they’re emphasizing an ecological region rather than a cultural one, which I think is the right decision for this park (and I say that as a Latino). Of course we’ll want to see a richly developed town as with Anandapur and Harambe, but gives me a little extra hope they’re developing this land to serve the park’s mission

They got their clicks from it, but there have been no trees removed. At most, some trees may have been trimmed back, but not removed. Even that site doesn't provide evidence of removal. Clickbait garbage, once again
