Anyone else find it funny that to celebrate Pixar for Summer 2018 they got rid of the only Pixar Land in the park?
I’ve always felt that Pixar Pier was a consolation prize for Lassetter losing Bug’s Land so he wouldn’t flip out on the execs for taking away something from his “precious brand”.
Lasseter may have been a force for bringing in Pixar IP in a hurried, cheap, and not-so-good way, but there is no doubt in my mind that everyone else at Disney wants to leverage the Pixar brand very much so as much as possible. It's all about IP synergy and Pixar is a prestige brand. Not leveraging the Pixar brand would be corporate malfeasance.
