EE being vandalized before Grand Opening...

It always sickens me that, due to my "age group", I'm always being mentally noted by adults as a rapscallion, vandalizer, (insert god-knows-what-else here).

I especially don't need idiots like them, that I'm supposedly "associated with", to be doing s*** like that. :fork:

Just noticed that now. I would say "great minds think alike", but... :lookaroun ;)

Yep... that wouldn't explain why you though the same. :lookaroun :animwink: :lookaroun :p
I should go back and edit that, though, the wording was horrible...

There, much better.

When the attraction first opened they were all glued shut. I don't know if people were able to break through the glue or what.
That's what I thought. I saw those carabiners in the queue and I too attempted to open one, but they were permanently shut (as I expected).

I noticed one out of two were screwed down and I dont know about the glue. I just tried to open a few and some worked and some did not. I didn't take any or anything, just wanted to see how well Disney did making it Idiot proof.

When I went through the queue the first time, I noticed that roughly 7-12 of the links were loose... dangling, and minutes away from being removed altogether. EVERY link had a min of 2 rivets drilled through to the wooden column to keep them in place.

The second time through the queue (when all this happened), these young gents grabbed them at first to inspect, then after noticing how well others had tried to remove them, began to try and pry them open... and were pulling on the outer-strands to further remove them from the column.

Anyways... I have an update. Stay tuned...

Well, here's the latest in the saga...

As of yesterday morning, someone has been doing some QC in the Q!

Here's the links (carabiners)... you can see where there used to be some down the column. The remainder have been secured once again and glued closed.

The box of tea that had the label ripped-off is now completely missing (removed). It should be important to note that all the boxes in this cabinet are labeled the same way. I'm sure there are more where these came from.

Also... some other pics from the queue that I left out before. I guess you can't stop the plant life from being all torn-up and defaced. You've get to be pretty desperate to deface bamboo... but then again, look who we're talking about here...

I was very suprised to have seen someone attend to the details so quiclky. I always assumed that CM's walked the queue both after park closing and before opening to just take a visual to see if everything is in shape. It was nice to see they're seeing the same things we are... other than the people in-the-act.

...and in un-related news... a Mears bus caught on fire in the TTC round-about last night. No-one was injured.

That bamboo was already starting to be vandalized when I rode EE, back during the annual passholder previews.

Now how sad is that? The only people that had ridden EE by then were Cast Members, their friends, DVC members, and annual passholders - basically the groups of people that you would expect to show respect for Disney, but nope - it was already being vandalized then.

Yeah. I know.

Just posting for the masses that weren't/aren't as lucky as us.

...still pathetic, though.

What happened to the scream like a girl thing in the case? or is it just a bad angle?
It's still there ... just sitting at a different angle.

(hopes we're talking about the same thing. :lookaroun )

Is there any way they could AVOID vandalism without saying outright not to do it?!

For instance...on the bamboo, they could put a little old sign up saying "be cautious of tropical spiders on bamboo" and have a little spider animatronic somewhere! HAH

Are there camera's in the queue? Thats a good way to catch a culprit! :lookaroun
