Dumbo & Main Street Updates

Over at the site that shall be named, Micechat, they re speculating that the Main Street renovations might be the first to come of some additional changes to Main Steet/ the Hub in preparation for the crowds SWL will bring. Particularly, a WDW like redo of the hub. AKA removing trees/ planters for AstroTurf, improved crowd control and better firework viewing.

Not sure about what you all think, but I hate the sound of this.
Oh geez. Please no. I hate what they did with the hub at WDW.

Look so like this will be a quick work schedule for the Main Street track replacement.
Supposedly fireworks are suppose to return for the busy President day weekend.
My guess is that they do the hub and town square at same time to finish by then. After the holiday they get back to the rest of mainstreet to finish before Pixar Fest.

What will be interesting is what they will do next week for the special after dark special ticket event.
The promotion included special fireworks.
Wonder if they will just let people stand on mainstreet and no where near the hub

They're likely going to be working 24 hours a day on this until its done. So the Hub area will likely be done before next weeks special event.

From the "over the wall" pictures it looks like they already have the concrete cutter out and making cuts. So they will quickly chip away the old street and track pretty quickly. And as long as they have the new track already in a staging area, which I assume, they can put that down quickly as well. I wouldn't be surprised if the Hub area was finished by the end of this weekend, Tuesday at the latest.

I really wish they'd take advantage of this time of imperfect sightlines to finally fix the castle roof and trash the diamond turrets once and for all.

EDIT: Wow! I didn’t see this post til now. Great minds think alike, TROR.

They really should take this time to fix the castle's roof. The view's already pretty much ruined so putting up scrims over the castle won't do much.

Didn’t the parks blog say this project wouldn’t be done til March? I doubt the Hub will be completed by this weekend if March is the timeframe we re working with.

Nope there was no mention of a completion date at all in the blog. Plus the actual blog was about both Main St and Dumbo queue. So even if there was a mention of a completion date it would be for both projects. The queue is going to take longer than the track to build.
