I respect your respectfulness and while I MAY be wrong, just wait until Disney has an incident directly related to alcohol and see how they respond.

Hmm...such as this lil gem from 2 years ago?

http://articles.orlandosentinel.com...val-academy-grad-walt-disney-world-theme-park

They responded. Food and wine continued...as it should.

Again..the actions of an INDIVIDUAL are in no way grounds to condemn the masses. By the way a lot are speaking, alcohol turns everyone into a crazy maniac and these events happen every day. I, and many I know, have done our share of consumption at Epcot (not just during food and wine...I know..Im such a ticking time bomb), and have managed to not assault or climb. The THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of others who participate yearly who have somehow against what is suggested here managed to keep their inevitable alcohol induced psychosis at bay are the majority. The argument that its a family establishment is pretty silly, as I am sure you will be hard pressed to find many successful family establishments that do NOT serve alcohol in some fashion. Theme parks, restaurants, sporting events, carnivals, festivals, the zoo...the list goes on an on...but I guess they don't count in anyones argument.

If anyone is interested I had family who was there last night , apparently this happened about 15 minutes before closing time and there was a large group that dared this guy and he was able to climb all the way and come back down on his own with no security, when he had walked off a girl/woman tried to do it and was stopped by security before climbing. They said it seemed more to them like a group of college kids acting stupid and no one seemed to be drunk at all.
Does girl/woman have the same sort of connotation as manboy?

I really don't like the temperance lectures on this forum. If I want to enjoy an adult beverage responsibly, it's none of your concern.
Alas, the key is responsibly, which I'm sure you do brilliantly, but not everyone does.

I'm neither concerned about people enjoying alcohol responsibly nor am I lecturing people about drinking. I think all forms of mind altering drugs should be legal when enjoyed responsibly and not affecting others. At Disney, idiots will affect others in general and they are just worse with alcohol.

I was in the vicinity yesterday when the No Climbing signs were installed on either side of the mural on the outside of the pyramid. (sorry, didn't manage to get a picture)
That's almost silly. It implies the guy came down, security was going to toss him and he said "Well there's nothing saying I can't climb the stairs, so how am I in the wrong?"

Stuff like this is unacceptable. I've been pretty drunk at Epcot numerous times, but have never once let it affect others. If you're going to drink at Epcot do it responsibly... Everyone else is a paying customer to WDW, don't ruin their trip by being an idiot.

When I first saw this video on Facebook, I thought I was seeing things. I had to confirm (because I don't believe half the junk I see on the internet these days) with my sister-in-law who works at Disney to see if this really happened and she goes, "Yep! It happened." Unbelievable! I've seen those steps that go up the side of the building. I think even sober I would fall off! For that guy to walk up there drunk? He must've drank enough to allow his "Spider Man Skills" to kick in. Amazing feat, but dumber than a box of rocks. Chances are he'll be banned from Disney unless he can make some plea to have the ban removed. I say, "Good luck with that." ;)

I promise you it wasn't me b/c when I get drunk in EPCOT I go swim in the big fountain up front.

Thanks to folks like you I was able to have a wondrous career at EPCOT as a lifeguard.

I should note that the mistake I made was lifeguarding at EPCOT and not the EPCOT resorts. The one time someone fell into WS lagoon, I too was scared to jump into that toxic sludge. Luckily, Worldy, the WS lagoon monster of legend, made a surprise appearance and rescued the scared and confused tourist.

As I mentioned in another thread, I was a lifeguard at EPCOT (inadvertently left the phrase "area resorts" off of my application) and believe you me, having the rain wash off the WS lagoon goo I'd be covered in after a few life saving dips was wonderful. It was strange walking around wearing flip-flops, speedos and carrying a boat hook and life buoy, but I believe deep down, guests appreciated the feeling of safety brought about by having a quality lifeguard in the park.
