There is a type of sarcasm that is so well written and executed that it's frequently not recognized as such. Mr. Wellesley employs this to great effect. Mr. Chef Mickey, however, while only stating his opinion, is . . . . . well, I was gonna say wrong, but I try not to do that. I enjoy some fine wine, and have had many excellent nights quaffing vodka at the Rose & Crown. And yes, I've seen the occasional drunk person disrupting others. But then you'll see this in any venue, from sports arenas to movie houses. I don't think the answer is to scrub alcohol out of every Disney park. I don't think the problem is nearly big enough to even need an answer. People every once in a while are gonna be stupid. Banning alcohol isn't going to fix that.

Guys, guys,

Any post that begins with "You mad bro" instantly sounds immature. I don't care what the argument is about, when you put those words in your comment you lose all sense of credibility on the matter...

And for all of us, it looks like you're both mad.

@wdwmagic I'm afraid you are probably right about the guard rail coming soon :(
Your original post responding to my position was rather strong...Implying I'm a hypocrite and acting like I was taking a position as a "finger wagger" just because I stated and opinion.

You mad bro might be immature, but you were indeed mad, bro.

I respect your respectfulness and while I MAY be wrong, just wait until Disney has an incident directly related to alcohol and see how they respond.

I get that people like to drink with meals, people like wine tasting, and people like a little drinky drink. We ALL enjoy these types of things, myself included. I just don't see Disney as the place to have 10 beers and act like an idiot, which is what some people want to do. I've seen it first hand, multiple, multiple times at EPCOT.

You expect it at sporting events (which by the way, there is a ton of support of removing it or controlling it a lot more). Someone was just murdered in Dallas after a Cowboys game and alcohol was involved.

I just hate to see this kind of ridiculousness at a family park. I'm not even old-fashioned and I'm about as liberal as you can be on social questions.

I also totally understand it's not some rampant problem with a drunkard getting removed daily.

We'll probably be seeing a big guard rail installed at the foot of the temple now.
That's what the big piece of mural was supposed to be about. It was added because people kept trying to climb the stairs. And this is in the eighties well before F&W. But you could be right, they may have to add a bigger barrier.

Disney has had tons of big problems directly related to people being drunk, but they are not going to change anything because 1) They make too much money from it 2) People would get way too upset if they took it away.

They should probably stop selling alcohol and switch to donuts and tips on how to stick closer to church oriented social activities.
That is not how all church oriented social activities or all activities church related work.
While I am not a priest or a nun, I know more than I am willing to say.

I really don't like the temperance lectures on this forum. If I want to enjoy an adult beverage responsibly, it's none of your concern.

I'm with you on this one but (generalizing here, not singling you out) there's a huge difference between enjoying an adult beverage responsibly and getting so drunk you climb onto a topiary (which I've personally seen) or a pyramid. It seems stumbling around the world has become such a problem that Disney will eventually have no choice but to limit access to alcohol because of those who have no self control because:

Folks, mostly younger seem to lose their minds once they get to the parks and have access to alcohol. Personally, I used to love going to Epcot, grabbing a drink, and enjoying my evening. The last few times we've been, we're constantly pushed or shoved or stumbled into or spilled on because Pleasure Islandcot is a thing. :(

I wouldn't mind seeing a per credit card purchase limit. No more than 2 drinks per hour or something would be reasonable, and if they look like they're drunk coming in or wearing a "stumbling around the world" shirt, don't let them in.

After. It was During that interaction that earned his trespass notice.

As usual, it's your behavior and attitude that generally determines how an interaction with Law Enforcement is going to go.
If the Sheriff's Department stormed my room in the middle of the night on some trumped up charges, I might have some choice words for them also. I don't think that Disney should trespass someone for their interactions with a LFO that has no warrant and doesn't find any illegal activity.

I do understand that the guy has some prior interactions at Disney that probably mitigated the trespass...I'm just saying that the verbal incident should not have any bearing on it.

No, I don't think the cops should bang on someone's door without a warrant either.

Either way, neither of us know exactly what he said to OCSO yet it was sufficient enough to end with a trespass notice. It could be worse, he could have been arrested.

I think I would rather be arrested than be trespassed.

At least if you are arrested for something for have a chance of getting it overturned in a court of law.

Trespassed is pretty final.

Either way, it's a pretty good way to ruin your vacation.

If anyone is interested I had family who was there last night , apparently this happened about 15 minutes before closing time and there was a large group that dared this guy and he was able to climb all the way and come back down on his own with no security, when he had walked off a girl/woman tried to do it and was stopped by security before climbing. They said it seemed more to them like a group of college kids acting stupid and no one seemed to be drunk at all.
