Downtown Disney update

Well nothing we can do about that. All water under the PI bridge. I'm certainly not going to a hold a grudge due to a delay. I'm looking forward to a much bigger and better DTD.
Ive seen some of the plans that have been tossed around and some have some impressive aspects. They're exciting. But I just don't want people to forget how badly the whole PI situation has been handled. I think it's one of the worst things that have happened at any Disney resort.

100% true, but we can't look a gift horse in the mouth. it's an embarrassment that PI has sat essentially barren for 5 years. that said, it's over. those years are history. if they give us a bigger and better DTD, i'll be willing to forgive.

If/when I am standing in an amazing new complex that rivals or surpasses PI, I won't care about the last several years of blunders. But for now, I am living in the present. Which like the past and near future, looks pretty damn dismal.

You can't blame people for taking a "I'll believe it when I see it" attitude given the complete mismanagement of PI in recent years. We'll change our tune if/when Disney addresses their mistakes.

I'm kind of on the fence when hearing about this "huge" new DTD. Listen, I want the place to look good and not a 1/3 shuttered buildings, but do I want some new, sprawling area? Not really. With the amount of money parks like EPCOT and DHS need, not to mention the transportation system, I don't really want to see a significant amount of money spent on DTD

My family and I LOVE LOVE LOVE DTD. We love the atmosphere, the smells, the sights, the music. I love walking past people you know are either on their vacation, or going to DTD to have a good time. Could it be more? Of course. But I love it.

nah, i don't blame people at all. i am taking a wait-and-see approach as well. i'm just saying i'm not going to dwell on the lost years IF (and that's a big if) they follow through on potential plans.

Why judge the way people want to spend their vacation? Besides, just because one is at a bar does not mean they are imparing themselves.
Just as there is only one proper and safe place to vacation year after year (Walt Disney World), there is only one proper and safe way to enjoy your proper vacation. o_O

I always feel sorry for people I see at WDW that are sitting at a bar. Why go to WDW if you're going to impair yourself?

Makes you wonder why WDW even has them. It's not like they'd want to promote adult activities at the parks. I mean, they're not going out and celebrating various potables from around the world on a regular basis or anything....

Boy you sure are right... That nice German beer I had and stellar conversation that evening in World Showcase with my adult friends while we enjoyed the atmosphere sure was impaired.

What?

Of course you are right, I shouldn’t judge. It’s just that based upon my observations, patrons at Disney bars seem to me to be rather awkward and out of place. It’s the impression I get. However, I can understand how alcohol would play a pivotal role for some people in helping them to relax. I suppose I should be thankful that I don’t need ethanol to relax.

Hyperion Wharf STILL Dead - film at 11..... what? No one remembers Buckwheat on SNL?

Really - why are we beating this to death? DTD West Side Dead - STILL DEAD... "not just mearly dead but truely and sincerely dead..." what part of "dead" does no one get? Parking Lot. Empty. Dead dead dead...

When Disney actually DOES something - as in actual performance? It will no longer be totally dead. Until then? It's dead.

Are you sure DTD West Side is all dead? Because...There's a big difference between mostly dead and all dead. Mostly dead is slightly alive.

Sorry, couldn't resist. All those "deads" reminded me of one of my all time fav movies so I had to quote it :D
