Heading out for 50. Starting to eat more. Has pain but pushing through it. Everyone on the course is commenting on him "he fell twice and didn't even flinch!". The Machine races on!

Nick is past the 60 mile mark!! In pain but doing a great job. This is the farthest he has ever run at a single time! No rain up here yet but it's on it's way. Starting to get dark, so he picked up the headlamp last time by. Thanks to Coryna for spending a few hours with us! Much appreciated.

Just got back. Got to see Nick at 50 & 60 miles. Looks good (even with a scraped up knee from a fall earlier in the day)
He seems to be on a 10 miles every 2 hour pace. At 60 miles he said he was hurting but proud to say he hasn't walked at all since the race started. Can't wait to get more updates from Allison as the race goes on.

I have to say I was amazed at the caliber of these runner. Some of them at 50/60 miles look like they were running the first mile of the day.

So glad I could make it up to cheer Nick on and I hope the sandwhiches were yummy! Now, don't forget to make your list for next year :)

Nick reached mile 70 about a half hour ago. He is feeling the pain and fatigue but "Team Machine" is keeping him pumped up, the nutrition up, and focused. 30 miles left....he does that daily! Let's go Nick....you are doing fantastic!!! Will provide an update at 80.

Coryna! Great to see you. Thanks for the sandwiches...we owe you big time!

I have enjoyed reading these updates all day. Glad to see that Nick is still moving along. I still cannot fathom how this is even possible.

Hi everyone! Nick has passed the mile 80 mark!! 20 to go! He's staying positive and focused. Said he's never felt pain like this in his life (hard for me to hear but we keep cheering!). Just started walking after mile 72....ran every step up to that point. Keeping well hydrated but having difficulty with solid foods. Hanging in there and finishing strong. Back with more for the last lap!

Joel....we welcome company and I know Nick would love to see you here! We will have pics and video to post when we get back home for sure.

Texas...think there were 70 ppl at the start but definitely no where close to that number on the course now (lots of DNFs).

20 miles to go is like nothing when you've already run 80, right? :lookaroun  I hope the weather is holding up. It started pouring here a little while ago.
