Doing the wave with Magic Friends

Okay...wasn't sure whether to post here or in the shower thread.

Wow...just wow. I had the best, best time! It was awesomely awesome.

To start, it was sooooo great to see everyone in person...you guys made me feel comfortable right away, like I fit right in. I felt like I could relax and be myself (and all without Windex...highly unusual for me :lookaroun). Everyone was just like I imagined...your personalities really shine through in your posts!

I have never laughed so hard...everyone was so funny! Baby showers usually bore the heck out of me...not this one!

You all are absolutely adorable! What a bunch of cuties. Gorgeous girls all.

I got such a kick out of my "bridal shower". You guys, that was so sweet and funny...and a bit embarrassing! For as big a mouth as I have, you'd think I'd like being the center of attention. It was awesome that you guys made such a fuss...Dot LOVED the sash and tiara veil, very creative!...Jenny, your gifts were a riot, I reckon that swatter will come in handy (not to mention the nutcracker)...Betty & Dot, that purse, those earrings, can't wait to wear them, and to try out those dice...Nibbs, I love those tacky glasses!!! I actually think they're adorable. Grant's favorite of all was, of course, the lacy underdrawers from Judy :ROFLOL: Thanks to everyone!

Steph and Chrissy, I'm so sorry you couldn't be there. We missed you very much but of course you have to do what you have to do for our "Future WDWMagicians" (major props to the Dynamic Duo on those onesies!). Love you girls, can't wait to meet you both.

Judy, it was so great to meet you...my Philly soul sistah! Thank you for the cake, it was scrumptious!

Rosella, you are a doll and I wish you the best...God bless you and the little one on the way!

And Dot and Betty, thank you for the Tigger and Pooh for Em and Wee Jack...it was so sweet of you to think of them. I just now found the little towels you got them as well...how totally cool! Thank you!!!!!

Gah, could those pictures of me be any worse??? I gotta get rid of that gut. I told you Nibbs, I don't photograph well!

And finally: Joe, very funny. Dana, thank you love! You're gorgeous yourself! I just know it, even though not a picture of you exists.

In summary...I am so glad I went...I love you guys so much.

(p.s. - if my cigarette and pickle breath (yuk) knocked anyone out during the hugs goodbye, sorry luvs!)

Amy...this made me weepy.
Meeting you was such a treat for me. You are incredibly wonderful. And exactly as I expected. You are one the "realest" people I know. I'm so glad you decided to take the chance and come here today. You helped make the day very special for me and I know the others feel the same way. Thank you for the opportunity to feel a real Amy ((hug)). I can tell everyone else here...it is the best! Love you and hope to see you again soon.

Wha?? Strange!

I would end up in jail, because if he said that to me I would SLAP HIM. HARD. LIKE, DRAWING BLOOD. Free speech, my . :fork::fork: No one has a right to speak to you that way Amy. Do not tolerate it. There are other jobs if he continues to make it unbearable.

:( The whole exchange made my tummy hurt (pathetic, I know).

It really is upsetting. There is some history between us...follow closely, cause it's confusing. Years ago I was married to his brother, so I've know this guy for about 20 years. After his brother and I split, I recommended him to my boss to come work with us in the new company. His brother and I have NEVER been an issue between us...if anything, he was on my side of things. Anyway, fast forward to two years ago, when my little sister started working with us. About a year after she started, the two of them started dating. I told him from the beginning it was a bad idea because I knew my siser was not ready for a serious relationship. he had just gotten a divorce and was already looking to settle down again.

So. It ended, and now, a year later all the sudden he is being an absolute jerk to me. All the above stuff has really nothing to do with me and him...yet he is so bitter and mean to me...he's not even proffessional. Hate me if you must, but at least be respectful. I don't do anything wron to him but he makes me feel bad. I have tried to be his friend and be supportive...and he spits in my face (figuratively speaking) over and over again.

Sorry for the vent.

I'll have to catch up tomorrow.
So tired...so I'm off to bed.
I just wanted to say thank you to you all.
You're a most wonderful group of friends.
Good night!

I'm sure it confusing as to why he's being this way....but irregardless of the history, no one has the right to speak to you that way. I'm sorry, but I'd tell him to knock that crap off immediately.

You're right...I should. I really should. Problem is everyone at work walks on eggshells around him. You never know how he's feeling until he opens his mouth and either bites your head off or makes a joke. I honestly think he's bi-polar.

And he always has me second-guessing myself...for example, now I'm thinking I should not have responded to his e-mail on a Saturday nite (even though he sent it on Saturday afternoon) because it's the weekend and it's not work time. But then I think, well, there are certainly more polite ways to handle that...even simply ignoring my text would be better.

I'm sorry to keep going on about this, he just really has me upset.:(

I guess the older I get the witchier I get :o...and if everyone is like that around him, I don't see how anyone could enjoy working around someone like that. I see how telling him off could escalate things, but I would really think about letting your boss know he's doing this.
Don't apologize for 'going on', you need to talk and that's fine. But don't second guess yourself either - you just wanted more info from him for pity's sake. He's the one with the attitude problem, not you. Besides, he's really not bright if he doesn't see what an AWESOME lady you are. :animwink:

Thanks Jen. You go on with your witchy self!

Let's talk happy...I loved the stuff you and Abs got for the girls! BTW, Dave Barry is one of my all time faves! And Abby's poem was so cute and creative...we all got a big "awwwww" ou t of "it's a child, and it's mine". She's got talent, your girl.

That book is fabulous! If you ever need a laugh, Dave Barry will provide it.

And I'm just a little proud of her. :D She has a talent for poetry, she really does. I try to encourage to keep journals, write down story ideas, whatever comes into her head. Her English teacher, from the things Ab has said, really likes what she writes for class as well. I know she wants to major in special ed, and minor in English - she's already thinking about college. Whether that will change or not, who knows....at least she has a better grasp on what she wants than I ever did with my education.

I think it's great she's already thinking college. And wonderful that you encourage her with her writing. Wish I had kept up with mine. She is def. very talented...better start saving up for university, Jen!

OT: saw this bumper sticker today: "Voldemort Mallfoy 2008" :ROFLOL:

I could go somewhere with that, but I'll be good. :lookaroun

And I'm hoping there are scholarships somewhere in that future of hers :lookaroun - because it's kinda hard to save for anything when you're focused on paying stuff off. :o But we are.....it's just taking a while.

I gotta go, hon. Almost bedtime for me - I'm old. Sleep sweet!

 I won't be good...apparently they got elected!

Nite sweetie. (BTW, we are the same age. You just can't hang.)

And good on ya for the paying off.
