Oh and just a couple/ few miles. Not far. We're about 3ish miles from the stadium
Ahhh. I ask because Dave & I will be driving back from DC in 2 weeks, so we were thinking that if you need us to we could stop at Dot's, pick up the shower gifts, and deliver them to you on our way home.

Awww thanks, Fish. Although, actually....if Dot's around next Saturday...if my bedrest is lifted we're supposed to be going to SIL's for Passover and Dot's is on the way.
BUT if Dot's not around or if I'm not allowed to go, we may take you up on it :o

OK - just a thought. Don't be afraid to ask though - it's right on our way.

The two biggies that still need to come down:

The other side of our yard, where about 15 trees stood:

The two at the top are the ones closest to our house and the biggest threat, as they are hollowing out and cracking at the bottom. :dazzle: The trees removed by the shed in the 2nd pic introduced sunshine to our backyard, and I hope once they grind stumps and haul the debris away, we can prep that area for a butterfly garden. :)

Yeah....

The tree guy likened it to a semi dropping on our house if that one on the right came down. :dazzle: It's the one that was leaning ever so slightly toward the house. They removed some branches from it last year to make it a little less top heavy. But I have held my breath and said a prayer every time we've had high winds come through here.

And FWIW, I have about 15 trees still in my front yard...some are saplings, but there at least three that are really good size. I want to keep them for now though, it provides a nice screen from the road. We've already lost three out front because of weather.

Wow Jenn - did you get to keep the wood?

We have no use for the wood - it will go to local companies that can use it, and the wood chips from branches and stump grinding will go to a local landscaper. TBH, I think our price for removal would be even higher if they didn't take that wood to them...given the sheer size of the project, I think we got a good price. I know another company that gave us an estimate for last year's damage would've charged us almost double what this guy did. They'd be salivating over this current project if they knew about it. :rolleyes:

OK - glad it will get put to good use anyway. Dave would be burning it in the backyard fireplace every night. :D

:fork::fork::fork:

Just checked the forecast: not only did they mention the 's' word for Tues - Wed, they mentioned the possibility of accumulation. Gah!
