I would say no. Yes he did do a great deal. However, he is no Walt or Roy. With that said, if he were to get one, it should be in a gift shop. While he did do alot of positive, the man taught the world to have EVERY attraction empty int
o a gift shop.

If he was I think it could be nice for a little something in Hollywood studios because he did have a movie background before coming CEO and helped get the company's animation back on track in the late 80's. He did save the company from getting chopped up and sold away, so if not a statue, most definitely a plaque or something

I agree.

The amount of work he did will never be duplicated, and is very, very underappreciated, especially by the ignorant who have no clue just how much he has done, or worse by those who believe what you read in books.

Once Walt died, the company as a whole lost its real leader. The only person who took the leader position seriously was Eisner, and in truth did more with it than even Walt did.

Disney was never the corporate powerhouse under Walt it became under Eisner, even though it should have been.

Jimmy Thick-Callin' it as I see it.

This is where you lost me....Eisner and Disney were two very different men, both had very different asperations. Walt wanted to be the best at what he did....Eosner wanted to be the best at evrything. Did he succeed? yup and so did Walt. Walt was an animator at heart an entertainer .Eisner should receive lots of props for what he did. A statue? Seriously? If so it shouldnt be in any park....maybe outside the offices in Burbank. Walt made the cake....Eisner put the candles on top.

I don't think anymore statues should be added to Magic Kingdom itself, Walt and Roy started it and they deserve to be the only ones to have that honor.
Eisner did do a lot however, and is a big part of the company's history, but no statue in MK.
On Disney property, maybe..
If anywhere public, something somewhat subtle on the Westside of Downtown Disney, and it would appropriate if it were post-mortem
Thats my opinion

Eisner did a great deal for the company, but not so much to warrant a statue.

If my mind is correct, the Team Disney Building(the one with the dwarfs on the top) is The Michael Eisner Building in California. So I would say that was his tribute for his work in TDO.

The Disney boys had some good ideas but it took the genius of Eisner to expand upon and market these ideas. Unfortunately Walt’s dumb nephew got too involved toward the end and made a mess of things. Bob Iger is not the kind of leader any Disney fan wants. We’re left with waiting for a new leader who will do something. Current management has no hope. The best thing for Disney now is to be sold or broken up.

In the meantime, let's rename WDW to MEE (Mike Eisner Empire). After all, Walt Disney just gave us an old monorail that is turning into an historic relic. Eisner gave us a modern transportation system.

I dont know if he should have a statue, but I do agree, he made it what it is today. The 90's were fantastic for growth at Disney World. MGM, AK, Splash Mtn, ToT, RnR, Blizzard Beach, growth of Dtown Disney, he did one heck of a job.

I said no to a statue. He did a lot of good, but the two men who have statues deserve them. Nothing happens without them to begin with.

Where would it end though? Roy Disney Jr. saved Disney Animation and that led to great movies like Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Little Mermaid and Lion King. How much different to the parks look without those movies?

So I don't think we should be handing out statues like cracker jacks either

Jeffery Katzenburg saved Disney animation and developed and produced all those films you mentioned. Roy Disney jr was there because of his name.

But Eisner does not save the company is there still a Disney World to go to? Eisner is one of the few who deserve it in my opinion.
I think it's just because Jimmy Thick suggested it that you agree.

We all know that you are one in the same person.

Mike was great until Frank left us. Then he kind of lost the plot.

So no, he doesn't deserve a statue. He has a building where he should have one and that's enough.

Exactly. Eisner lost his direction after the loss of Wells. Michael Eisner's big accomplishment was stopping the Comcast threat, that was his last hurrah. I hate to think what direction the Comcast would have gone.

I see Eisner almost everytime I visit the parks already.

Walt & Roy are visionaries, the type that start great companies. Most everything Disney is today is a progression of what they started. Walt handled the creative and Roy handled the financial. The Creative was in charge. Walt had a talent for creating new ideas and running with it and Roy found the money to do it..

Eisner & Wells were corporate executives hired by the Board of Directors. Eisner handled the creative and Frank handled the financial, the creative was in charge. Eisner had a talent for recognizing a good idea and running with it, Frank found the money to do it.

Back in 82 Walt Disney Productions was nearly carved up and sold by corporate raiders. The Shamrock Holding Co. lead by Stanley Gold and owned by Roy E. Disney and the Disney Family were the driving force to have Michael Eisner and Frank Wells put in charge of Disney. Roy E. Disney wanted to restore Disney Animation and was put in charge of Animation and hired Jeffery Katzenberg a creative. Years later Shamrock was also influential in the removal of Michael Eisner.

When Frank Wells died, Michael absorbed his financial job responsibilities. Simply put Eisner could not balance both creative and financial. and had to be fired after poor performance.

As others have stated he deserves no stature, he was not the company founder nor did he do anything but grow the seeds planted by Walt & Roy. Frank Wells has a building named after him and a tribute in the Matterhorn. Eisner deserves no less but no statue.

Eisner didn't save the company. Roy and Stanley Gold and the Bass Brothers (and a few others) ultimately saved the company. Eisner was brought in immediately after saving the company and built it to the mutli-media empire it is today.

I'm not trying to belittle his accomplishments, but he was not the one who "saved" the company.

Let's get our facts straight.

Have you even read about the company history? Roy E. was not so dumb (actually he was a very smart guy, just very shy and introverted) and was responsible for quite a bit of the success of Disney Animation in the 80s/90s.

The Disney boys had some good ideas but it took the genius of Eisner to expand upon and market these ideas. Unfortunately Walt’s dumb nephew got too involved toward the end and made a mess of things. I think this is sarcasm... I think...
