It hit me when I seen Up another woman knocked off..where are the moms/wives in the Disney animation films Little Mermaid, Belle, Pocahontas, we know what happened to Nemo's mom and the wife in Up? Does Disney have something against moms and wives? I'm just sayin! :shrug:

This is very true. :shrug: Just to add to the list so far:

Pirates of the Caribbean 1,2,&3 - It seems nobody has a mother in these movies.. Elizabeth Swann, Will Turner, etc.

There are plenty of movies that do have mothers in them, Toy Story, Incredibles, Sleeping Beauty, Mary Poppins..its just some of the popular ones dont have a mother.

The trend is that both parents are usually dead.

Parents get in the way of storytelling because they get in the way of adventure at such a young age. Therefore, parents and child are separated.

The original Disney characters from Walt don't need a Mom, they have Walt and what more could you possibly want! :sohappy::sohappy::sohappy:

In the original story boards for Aladdin, Aladdin had only his mother and his father was missing. As you all know she got cut from the film also so I don’t know if that makes it better or worse. :lol:
