Does anybody know about IOA's new island

Right now,the current plan is to get Revenge of The Mummy open by June 2004. Sylvester McMonkey-McBean's Very Unusual Driving Machines is pretty much set to open in 2004. The Wild Wild Wild West Stunt Show closes next Monday for good,so either a new show will be made(I'm rooting for Rush Hour or Bad Boys Stunt Shows!)or the theatre will be demolished and will make room for a new attraction. The rumor is The Fast and The Furious will be the next contender for a USF attraction, whether it be a sunt show,a coaster,or a Test Track-type attraction. A water ride is also heavily rumored to be between MIB and BTTF. Nickelodeon Studios is also closing at the end of this year. It may be torn down and turned into Nickelodeon Central,an area which all of the Paramount Parks have. It includes the Runaway Reptar coaster,Spongebob Squarepants in 3D,The Wild Thornberrys River Adventure, and more. The soundstage which houses Shrek 4D is called Soundstage 4D,which may be a hint that another 4D attraction may be installed there since Shrek takes up only half of the building. The most rumored one is Sesame Street Movie Magic 4D which is at the Universal Studios Japan. If you want a Universal Classic Monsters attraction, you may be in luck. The Horror Make-Up Show is rumored to close in 2005 to make way for a 'Van Helsing' dark ride, based on the 2004 movie in which a warrior named Van Helsing takes on classic monsters in the 19th Century. As for IOA,Jurassic Park Jeep Adventure is the only one with the most hope as a new attraction. It may open in 2005. A Grinch wild mouse coaster in Suess Landing is a possibility,as well as transforming The Lost Continent into a Lord of The Rings island. Daredevil or The Fantastic 4 are the best candidates for a Marvel Super Hero Island attraction. As for Toon Lagoon, the cartoon theatre which was a waste of money may be demolished for a Hagar The Horrible water ride. And as for a new island, the most rumored types are a futuristic one or an HHN type one.

There is no room in IOA they used all the space up.. One little lot near JPRA.. But thats it. I can get gas right where Fire goes by... Behind that Green Facade is a street. No trees or vacancy.

Apart from a few tweaks I don't think IOA needs to be changed. As seems to be the current situation, US should be invested in to update the rides, and build new ones, since the rides there don't meet the thrill of IOA. However i hope they don't get rid of the classics at US, Kong has gone right ? Thats was a great ride, but i can't wait to ride the mummy ride! I read that this new type of ride has been 10 years in development!

Whats so great about Mummy? Train runs over sensors triggering some little animatronic to dance or growl?

Disney is past their mark and always will be. Universal is like a little kid.

We'll see. The way their talking about the mummy ride, it sounds better than spiderman (which I think is better than anything at disney... with the exception of mission space. I haven't been on that yet, so I can't really say).

You could say the same thing with any ride. For example, what's so great about M:S? One could say, "It's just a gravitron." What matters is the execution of the ride itself and how much fun it is. And calling Universal a little kid when they still have the best ride in the entire world, "Spider-Man" is a little silly. This isn't just me saying it, it has been named best attraction in the world by countless magazines and Theme Park planning guides. Even my Unofficial Disney World guide says it's the best.

I'm not talking about that, Im talking about Mummy. What is it going to do for the industry. Disney raised the bar to a new level with Mission Space. I don't see how some horrible looking Mummy Warriors will beat even RnR.

Mummy warriors are better than cardboard cutouts in blacklighting pretty much any day.

Just wait until it opens, I don't think you realize how elaborate it is going to be. Just because Universal doesn't procrastinate for 3 or 4 years building something doesn't mean it can't be done well in reasonable time. Mummy will be as ground breaking as Spiderman.

Hate will make someone prejudge everything. RnRc has a ok queue, but the ride it self is nothing more than cardboard cutouts and blacklights. The ride only lasts 40 seconds. The only fun parts are the launch, the first 2 inversions, and the music. After the inversions it gets boring, it left me with the feeling "is that it?".

Why do some people assume that only Disney can "raise the bar"

Before M:S Uni. had Spiderman and they still have good coasters such as The Hulk.... I will say Disney makes more tech. revolutions but it doesn't mean Uni. can't do that!!!! RnR is great but remember it is NOTHING special... It's an almost direct clone of: "Superman:the ride" at six flags holland with an exeption of a building around it and music!!!

Don's get me wrong, for ME disney is superior but Uni. also does good jobs sometimes which impress me!!! (example: Shrek 4D, 120 minute wait, popular: i think so!!!)

But that's just my opinion...

Why the hell are we even fighting? Why in the hell does someone bring up Disney doing something better in this thread? I could care less about how Universal compares, I came to this area to read about Universal stuff. If you are gonna just say Disney is better in a Universal thread, then what is the point of even posting that?

As for space, its true, you can't fit a whole other island in IOA, there is no room, but who cares, the park is fine how it is.

Let's not start another Disney vs. Universal debate, and get back to what we were talking about :D

I think USF could do with a water ride, as IOA has a few, and I think it is all the park is missing really.
