Do you think that Disney world will reclose its gates due to the rising number of COVID cases in Florida and around the country?

Healthcare workers are physically and mentally tough. I could give a rats behind what they think. At work I’ve been called every four letter name out there, hit, kicked scratched, assaulted, dealt with with every kind of ungrateful, entitled person on the planet.
Yes I will enjoy my trip and thank you very much.
No doubt, healthcare workers / first responders are some of the most mentally tough people I come in contact with, nature of the job.

As I said I have plenty more links but pointless to post them, it is not rare
I’ll limit it to my personal experience. My clients include the biggest hospital systems in NYC (and the country), and they have never ever experienced anything like this in their entire history.
they have had to cancel elective procedures for a few days before, never for months.
Intensivists have had to come in for a few extra shifts, but never had to previously work 30 straight days without a day off.
And never have thousands of nurses had to be hired from out if state.

Sure that is NY Area, one of the hardest hit places in the world by outside Italy, Spain etc.. What is going on now in the current hotspots in Florida, Arizona and Texas is nothing at all like what happened there in April.

Also you now limit your claim of surges never regularly happening to your limited personal experience, that I can understand and could be true.

He has a very narrow focus. Arizona brings in thousands of nurses every Winter so does Florida, California and many other states. I know Nyc was caught off guard, but I also know their nurse to patient ratio stinks on a good day. I would never use Nyc as an example.of anything that relates to the rest of the country.

Rise of the Resistance is a hell of a lot more than just moving around in a ride vehicle.

I’m not sure you can at argue the experience is that inferior with the many positives considered. It’s freaking unbelievable. I’m here right now and it’s the best trip ever.

I miss some shows and a few restaurants, but this is incredible and will likely never happen again in decades.

people said the same thing right after 9/11 and here we are less than two decades later

Slowing testing means people are not sure they have the virus, why this is a big problem is because when people know they have Covid do for the most part quarantine themselves and prevent further spread, consult your favorite news source to see that otherwise a lot of people aren’t taking basic measures to prevent spread.

This is less than 9/11 and once in 20 years is still a long time. But you can wait for the next 20 year event, running your hands together.

This is a once in every 100 year global pandemic. Nothing of this scale and scope have been seen since the 1918 Spanish Flu pandemic. As big as 9/11 was here in the US it did not affect the entire world. No country has been left unscathed although some have done much better then others.

Are you saying I won’t need express passes at Universal? I booked Royal Pacific, but I could save some money by switching to one of their moderate resorts.

I’ve haven’t ridden the Fantasyland rides since Fast pass plus because the wait times are always ridiculous. Im Looking forward to hoping on those again.
We did not need them. But we also targeted UO for mid week (instead of the weekend) to minimize the crowds. At MK, all of fantasy land was effectively walk on - seven dwarfs posted 20 minutes, actual 5-7; Peter Pan the same.

This isn’t anything like the 1918 flu, but it it’s once every hundred years, my point remains.

I’m glad you made your political views known. but where are the mods that said no politics.

There has always been a lot we didn’t know about this virus, constantly learning more.
As we learn more, our responses improve.
But overall, the effect of the virus is worse than most people realized early on. More contagious, not really lessened by summer heat (or maybe we are currently seeing the lessened summer version which would be really bad).
The comparisons to the flu or to colds have proven to be utter fiction. Even the many people who appear to be asymptomatic or “mildly” symptomatic, you’d be amazed at what their chest x-ray looks like.
Those who have sought to downplay this virus have been sadly proven wrong, time after time.
