I have been following the new Knight Rider show since the show started airing last month. I have to say I love the show. I love the new KITT Car because KITT can transformed to other cars. Plus the special effects. So whats your opinion of the New Knight Rider?:D

OLD 80'S KNIGHT RIDER!!!!!!!!!!! IT is still my all time favorite show! And David Hasselhoff (can't spell) is the only true "Michael Knight" :) But I haven't had time to see the new one.

I know I'm talking about a show involving a car that can do incredible things...

This New Knight Rider is not good though. The acting is horrible, the car, while nice looking, can do "too much." How can a mustang transform into a full pickup truck? (A king-cab mind you). Yes, this is coming from the same guy that likes the movie Transformers. The thing is...Transformers is believable to an extent. A 15ft long car...when transformed...is a 15ft tall robot. KITT doesn't take time or space into consideration.

Deanna Russo has the most beautiful eyes on television though...which is probably why the show is a guilty pleasure for me

I will say that the car chases are done well :)

I kind of like the new Knight Rider. Love Val Kilmer as the voice of KIT.

Yoda, thank you as always for knowing everything!! I watched the new show for the first time and it was driving me crazy because I could not figure out who the voice was! I loved the 80's show, but I will enjoy the new show for the voice of Val.

It bugged me too during the pilot until one day when I was browsing commingsoon.net and came across an article about it Val doing the voice.

He also told us how he got roped into providing the voice for KITT, the sentient car in the recent television movie and soon to be returning series "Knight Rider." "It was a really weird happy accident," he said. "It was very strange just because they called me, not Wednesday afternoon, it was Wednesday about 8:30 at night. I live in the wilderness and my private phone just never rings because if you know me, you call the cell because I travel a lot. It was ringing and I looked at the phone like, 'That's really weird. Someone's calling me.' Went over, picked it up and it was the agency saying, 'Do you want to be the voice of KITT?' and I said, 'I remember that show. It was a fun when I was a kid, sure. Should I do a tape?' 'No, it's not an audition. They're offering it to you.' I said, 'When?' 'Tomorrow at 7:00.' What had happened and I can't take any credit for it at all, is that the actor Will Arnett, someone had seen him on the commercial for a car company and called him up and said, 'I think we have a problem.' He'd signed, done the job and been paid for it, but then they found out his voice is owned for another car company, which they found out by accident."

We asked if this was something he would continue doing with the upcoming "Knight Rider" series that was picked up after the success of the TV movie. "It is, they did and I am," he responded. "I'm doing it right now. I haven't done it yet, but I do the whole show in 3 or 4 hours.

I like certain aspects of the show. I'm not liking the way the console looks now, with the HAL 9000 eye. I preferred the look of it from the pilot movie. I have to agree with Brian about turning into a pickup truck, that's just a little far fetched, even for something that's supposed to be using nano-tech. The color change feature from the pilot, I'm okay with. Having the damage repaired by nano-tech, effectively making KITT bulletproof is fine with me as well. Pursuit Mode looks really cool. But yeah, adding mass that isn't there and then taking it away when it shifts back to Mustang mode, just a little too much.

The original voice planned for KITT was Wil Arnett, but he had another commitment and Val Kilmer stepped in at last minute.I think Wil Arnett's voice might have been a perfect fit but I do like Kilmers performance.

And just when you thought they couldn't come up with anything more ridiculous, KITT can now transform into both a cargo van and an LAPD cruiser complete with appropriate lights...

The show is not jumping the shark, it's jumping every shark between Portugal and Australia taking a Southwesterly route.

EEK!!! That even includes Hammerheads

The Fonz would be proud.

EDIT: (Was it a Ford van and a Crown Vic?)

The two-hour movie several months ago was pretty good. I made it exactly 4 minutes into the first show of the series before I turned it off. It was one of the worst 4 minutes in television history.

Of course. Every vehicle that spends any amount of time onscreen is generally a Ford of some sort. And for KITT, that means he's entirely Ford. If Ford really had a Government contract like that, their shares of stock would be a lot higher.

This would work just fine for a "Villain" car.

Allow me to introduce you to the Lamborghini Reventon.
