Do you have a hard time staying at a new resort?

I've become a huge fan of the Wilderness Lodge. Stayed there 3 times now. Staying at the Villas next month for 5 nights on rented DVC points. Decided to stay 2 more nights. Found a great rate to stay at the Grand Floridian, and since I've never stayed there, decided to book it. Looking forward to it, but at the same time, kind of worried I'll regret not spending the last 2 nights at WL.

Anyone else stuck on 1 resort?

I do! I am the first to admit it! We stayed at the Yacht Club in September and loved the atmosphere and the rooms and everything about it, BUT, we've always stayed the contemporary before that and we both said that it was awesome and we enjoyed it but the Contemporary is where it's at for us!

It is truly one of those "personal choice" kind of deal, but for us, we LOVE trtying new ones. The last 2 trips we actually split our stay between 2 resorts just so we could check out the other resorts. Trying Beach Club and AKL Kidani (for 2nd time) in March!
We definitely have our favorites but sure is fun to see the amazing variety between resorts. I must say, I am jealous, the one resort we really want to try is GF. Having walked through it a couple times, I think you will LOVE your stay there.

p.s. I guess we are going to have to break down and give VWL a try the next time, everybody seems to love it. We hadn't tried it yet, since we have stayed at Grand Californian at DL and it seemed to be same resort basically. Too bad VWL doesn't have aprivate entrance into the park like GC... that was nice!

Since I've only repeated once [POFQ is the only resort we've stayed at twice], I guess I'm at the other end of the spectrum.

Perhaps once I've stayed everywhere, I'll pick a favourite and stick with it.

I must say I have been spoiled by staying at Deluxe resorts at this point in my Disney-ing so although we love the Poly, I would be able to stay at another deluxe no problem. But I'll admit that I'd have a hard time staying at a moderate or value and that's just my personal feeling.

I love the Poly and I love POR. We have stayed at all the values, and as of this April, will have stayed at all of the moderates. The Poly is the only deluxe I've stayed at. But I don't find a huge difference between deluxe and moderate, other than some transporation options. We're not in the resort room often enough. To us, staying on Disney property to get that extra magical atmosphere is enough. So, in my round about way, "No, I don't have a hard time staying at a new resort". :D

We stayed at Caribbean Beach our first 12 times staying onsite, dating back to when it first opened in 88. I'd say we were stuck on a Resort, lol.

And even though we now stay Yacht/BoardWalk, we always head back to Caribbean Beach for a walk around, a food court meal, and some good laughs. My sister and I grew up at that Resort, and my best Disney memories of childhood are from Caribbean Beach.

We have our favorites(Coronado Springs and Poly)but, we do like to stay at different places.

You are doing it right by staying for a couple of days at the different hotel. It is a nice way to experience a new place while still spending the bulk of your time at your comfortable favorite!

We have been trying to work our way around the resorts lately and not repeating. We have stayed at 5 different resorts in the last 3 years with boardwalk being the most recent and the new favorite. Things will probably change now having points at BLT. I can understand getting stuck on one though.

Yes, we also love WL. we have stayed at a moderate before, and even a value, but always come back to WL. For a mod. POR is our fave and for a value POP. Even if we dont stay at WL we always make a trip over there to visit.

We love Animal Kingdom Lodge, I usually have to pry my husband out of the rocking chair by the fire pit. LoL.

But this past December we were offered Free Disney Dining if we stay in a value resort so we went for it because the deal was so good (we also got a great price on the room)....I went thinking I might be disappointed but surprisingly I wasn't....we also had a very busy trip planned and knew we weren't going to spend much time in the room anyway.

We use to stay at CB, it took us about 5 years before we made the "big change" to AKL.

We love BC - the easy access to Epcot etc swings it for us, we love walking over the bridge to the International gatewayand Boardwalk. We're getting ready to book our holiday for September and are thinking of trying the Poly, so I,ll be asking for lots of info from you all !

I agree, Once I stayed at a Deluxe It is hard to stay anywhere else. I have been called a Deluxe snob by some... Disney is so good at hooking you once you try something. Which is why they give you free upgrades, it hard to go back. That has happened to use with conciege.

I like to float around and try different ones.....I say that now. Eventually I'll pick one I really like and stick with it!!! :ROFLOL:

2008 was All Star Sports...not bad for a value resort. Enjoyed it actually!

2009 was POP Century. Great as far as overall aura but WAY too big and WAY to spread out and too many people...ahhhhhh!!!! LOL

2010 will be Port Orleans French Quarter and I can't wait:animwink:!!!

We are also stuck on the Wilderness Lodge Villas. In Sept., we couldn't get in so had to stay at OKW. Was nice, but not the Wilderness Lodge!!!!!! I keep trying to talk my husband into staying at the Beach Club Villas but he just doesn't seem to think anything will be quite like the WLV. Good luck!!!!

I don't think your a snob.lol. I have only stayed at deluxe (CR,YACHT,WL) so far and what brings me back to the deluxe hotels are the perks. As a whole I think Disney hotels are sub par for the price but atleast the deluxe have better transportation and dining options.I go to Disney to relax, eat and enjoy the things outside the parks. How many times can you go on space mountain?
