Disney used to traditionally hold major media announcements/junkets around 10/1, but they haven't done so regularly in many years.

And why would they do so this year?

They just announced their 'big' news at D23 ... what will come later (and there is more) isn't ready and isn't needed. I'd be very surprised to hear major WDW news for at least six months to a year ...

I think shortly after Potter opens as I've been saying all along.

That TDO stuff everyone was talking about 6 months ago just doesn't seem to be reality. It really was a case of Disney fixing DCA and other projects and now the focus is on WDW. It's all a cycle. Seen it before, will see it again.

Not sure Epcot will be the focus however .

DAK and DHS have more of a need.

I'm not 100% sure either, but I have heard of one such project. :)

There was a large thread on it over the summer.

Also...There's another small project I have in mind.

The TDO talk, at least from my perspective, had nothing to do with new attractions, and everything to do with park up keep.

Now that Lasseter and Iger have put the pressure on, I don't think we'll see the same problem.

I've said Lasseter is a terrific force for change in the company. Iger listens to him when it comes to the parks.

Your sheriff comments were ridiculous.

No you just didn't get what I was saying. Now you do. It was accurate and clever. You just can't admit it.

:p

I'm ending here, gotta go.

PS- Welcome back 74.

Lasseter was my first guess.

You were being difficult as usual.

Actually I wasn't sure it was Lasseter or Iger. I just knew things were changing. I still think the "sheriff" is a team effort but Lasseter provides the vision. And it is quite a vision. :)

It is most assuredly John, who possesses the 'vision' and creativity ... he really is the closest thing to Walt that exists today. And not only does he care about the product, but he absolutely cares about the fans and guests and cast.

Bob is a CEO. He's a manager, and not particularly hands-on, especially in anything outside of broadcast networks and studios. He delegates, which explains why people like Jay Rasulo manage to keep their jobs based on simply the bottom line.

But Lasseter isn't superman (or should I say Spiderman?) and he can't be in all places at all times. But it certainly is great that he is there ... Iger? Well, I'm not at all sold on him ... and cutting ________ Cook as coldly as he did certainly cost him in my book (and many in the industry far more important).
