Disney's Hollywood Studios Name Change

I think this means I win...

I'm starting to think WDW won't rename the park. They've been doubling down on the Hollywood theme for the park's public spaces. And they've been doubling down on putting in IPs from studios that Disney owns. Based on that information, you would think they'd call it: Disney Hollywood Studios.

If the favorite worlds are from the various Disney movie studios and the public space is Hollywood, then the best description would be "Disney Hollywood Studios."

🤷

Does this mean we won? Did Disney read the negative comments everywhere about the possible name change to "Cineimagine?" I don't call it D-MGM anymore. Disney's Hollywood Adventures is ok by me.

I think it might. This went viral way beyond the Disney fan community (here, other boards, etc.) and into general social media. I even saw some main stream media articles about it. The response to Cinemagine was overwhelmingly negative.

From Disney Parks Blog...

“In response to questions we have been receiving, we also want to let fans know that the Disney’s Hollywood Studios name will remain the same for the foreseeable future since we are immersing our guests in a place where imagined worlds of Hollywood unfold around them from movies and music, to television and theater.”

Looks like people hated the proposed names as much as we did. Still could change.

At the Annual Meeting of Shareholders, Bob Iger confirmed that DHS will be getting renamed due to the significant changes coming to the park. This thread is for discussion on the topic and any rumors / ideas for the reasoning or new name itself.

Thank God it's not Cinemagine. Whoever came up with that needs to go. But I don't know, Studios still sounds wrong. Probably because that term is connected with what the park was originally and now its an entirely different theme/idea. They should definitely find a new name, preferably still including Hollywood

Excellent news!! To explain why this is excellent news would be repeating everything I've said throughout this entire thread. Dr. Blonde's explanation is far from perfect, but she (or whatever cubicle dweller wrote it) seems to get it better than half of you guys. I will send her an Edible Arrangements bouquet.

Perhaps way back at that shareholder's meeting Iger had no idea what he was talking about.

There was definitely a plan. Multiple plans. Thankfully they made the best decision.
