With everything that is going on for the 60th, this might be one of my favorites. If they do it like the below pic, I will be a happy person.

Is this art from 2001 or 2012?

My dad took inspiration from it. I had several birthday parties as a kid that had messy games like water balloon battles. My dad would always have the last game with the best prize go to the kid who could collect the most trash. I used it a few times when I worked in aftercare. We had huge trees that would drop the big sticker balls all over the playground and kids would be slipping all over them or throwing them at people. I used to get big black trash bags and have the kids compete to see which team could pick up the most.

Your dad is a genius.

Neither - it's more from around 2005/2006ish, when DCA redo plans were first being formulated. Under Ouimet, there was a plan to redo Sun Plaza/Condor Flats as one large extension of Grizzly Peak (Sun Plaza less so, but still redwoods themed if I remember correctly - you can see a bit of it in that artwork). Then corporate money and Bob Weis got involved and the DCA project became a massive undertaking announced in late 2007 with Buena Vista Street.

This art was cooked up around the time a ginormous Incredibles E Ticket was planned for the Wharf using Kuka arm ride vehicles. Cars Land is great and all, but I'd rather have had that ride myself.

I know this wasn't clear to me (maybe it was to others) but it was confirmed to me a couple days ago that World of Color will be all-new for the 60th, top to bottom - not just an edit or tweak of the current show. It also sounds AMAZING.
So, no scenes from the current WOC? That's interesting. Well we keep the Opening? Or will that be refreshed? I'm guessing the finale will have the screamin lights? Anything 60ish going into WOC? When talk first started about a refreshed/new WOC, it wasn't connected to the 60th. Now it seems that people are saying that WOC is getting work done for the 60th.

There are no other details to share at present, but this is part of the 60th celebration - a completely new WOC show.

Oh, VERY fascinating. Do you have art of the new Sun Plaza?

And Incredibles? In the Wharf? Weird!

If it's tied totally to the 60th, I wonder if it'll be nostalgia themed... Maybe some Disneyland crossovers!?

I saw today on Twitter a picture of the 60th media ticket. It shows Mickey and Minnie infront of the bedazzled castle with new diamond inspired wardrobe. It looks really great! Not sure if it's a hint at what to expect from the castle overlay or new character costumes, but if it is I'm totally stoked!! https://twitter.com/dlthings/status/552294269453889537

Looks nice, and seeing the sparkling spires reminds me of what i talked about earlier - putting twinkling LED lights on the Castle to make it look as if it was *sparkling with diamonds*.

The color scheme and character costumes remind me lot however of the *Year of a Million Dreams* promotion.
This is not a bad thing, as the blue-white-and silver look is appealing and classy looking.

Maybe something with the greatest disney movies through the years like Snow white, Beauty and the Beast, Pinocchio and so like the movies from the golden mickeys show
That's a bit like what the show already is? Maybe they'll really harp on the WOC theme and harken back to the TV show?

So is Soundsational and Pixar Play likely staying the same? I know there was that HIH rumor.. Which got me thinking Maybe a small remake of some sort for Soundsational?

Just curious... for you DL experts... taking a trip out west in mid July and was playing with the idea of adding a couple of days at DL onto our plans. My concern now is that the days we'd be there would be July 18-20th. Would that be insanity considering the 60th celebration?

No, just normal summer crowds. July 17th is the actual anniversary date, so it will be crazy. Definitely go, it's gonna be awesome!

From what I understand the HIH rumor is false and the only new parade is going to be the light parade.

I would love to be proven wrong, because I am tired to death of Pixar Play.

And I think the new night parade will be Pixar heavy too, as most think it's a direct lift of HKDL's Pain the Night...

Paint the Night is about half Pixar, but there are a couple good reasons for that. Chinese audiences were only recently introduced to Disney films on a large scale - as a result, Pixar characters are more well known there than older Disney characters. My second reason is a theory, but it makes sense based on HKDL's entertainment - there are also no face characters involved, which means they don't need to add new girls to their face budget to stage Paint the Night.

That said, DL's version will include more face characters and more units overall - the balance will be in Disney animation's favor rather than Pixar.

EXCELLENT news! Really hope the MSEP theme is in there more heavily, too!
