Disneyland's 60th Birthday: Rumors, Speculation and News

TBH, I'm not sure if the boulder scene and its walls are back to working correctly; I haven't been on it in awhile. By hallway I was referring to the opening scene where your car chooses one of three hallways to approach Mara. That scene is broken as hell.
Wow, really? I assumed the other hallway because there's much more going on. I guess the moving walls are pretty hard to keep going.

The mechanism to facilitate the illusion of there being three tracks and three hallways instead of what is in reality just one was quite elaborate - so instead of the original effect where it would appear you were entering the left, center or right hallway randomly, it's now always the same hallway and the effects dressing it change to match whatever gift you've "chosen".

The mirrors just beyond loading don't work and the room no longer changes to fool you into thinking there are three tracks. It's REALLY sad actually, and I'm not sure it can be fixed without a full rebuild. Maybe someone else here knows more.

I changed the end of my post because I realised you were talking about the very first room and not the hallway with Mara after that. Kind of sucks I won't be seeing that cool effect in person.

Regarding Indy -

It is indeed really hit-or-miss regarding all the effects.
When i rode several times in September of 2013, i remember the 3-door effect working.
It fooled me a couple of times, as when it works correctly you really do get the impression it has three tracks.
One ride the Transport entered the *center* door...the next ride the *righthand* door.
Made me do a double take at the time as i did*nt remember the effect on a previous visit.
Very cool when it was working...and Mara cycled through all three *gift* options regularly, with a different choice each ride and i rode many times, often immediately one after the other.

IJA was closed for a refurb when i returned in April of last year, and when i came back again in September the 3-door effect was not working at all.
It was very noticeable to me.
The vehicles would only enter into the *righthand* door, and many times the door was already open when you entered the first area after Load.
Normally, the door would open just as your vehicle approaches.
Mara also seemed to *get stuck* in cycling through the *gift* options as well..and only play one particular choice, ride after ride.

Some other effects were come and go as usual...and it truly was a different experience every time i went through, but perhaps not what should be happening.
Many times, particularly on my most recent visit, it seemed the Transports arrived too early to scenes and the effects did not have time to reset.

Several times through the vehicle i was in would have to stop and *idle* for a few moments waiting for traffic ahead to clear, or for a effect to reset after a stationery delay.
The *poison dart* room and *boulder room* in particular i experienced a lot of *misfires* with that visit.
Fun to experience, but i felt bad for the Guests who were riding for the first time.

While some fans would probably find the non-working effects disappointing, i actually rather enjoyed seeing what happens when things don*t work correctly.
There were definitely some surreal moments that visit.
Of course it is much better when everything is as it should be, but i will confess that seeing the alternative was quite interesting from a fan perspective.

The impression i had at the time was that there were too many Transports on the track being cycled through Dispatch.
Kind of like when you ride *It*s a Small World* and in the finale room your boat ends up bumping the one in front and then spend the next 8 to 10 minutes waiting to reach the unload area.
Too many boats in the flume backs things up a bit.

I love the IJA Attraction.
It is absolutely AWESOME when everything is firing off when it should when you go through!
Hoping for a extensive refurb to make it shine for the 60th Celebration.

Probably, but I don't recall enormous backlash from the fans when CBJ left. I honestly believe Splash's presence deters the guests from Pooh and CBJ when it was open.
Splash Mountain is a pretty huge draw. How is it doing over there? The MK version has been looking great since its big refurb in 2013.

Interest in the Country Bears seemed to fizzle out in California.
Some claim it was the *hoedown* music, some feel it was it*s location in the Park, and others felt the Show was just seen as old-fashioned to the Park goers.

The Bears were always popular in Florida, the theory being because many visitors to the Park are from Southern States where old-time country music is still popular.
Another being the visitor ratio make up ( more tourists vs. more locals ).

Costs to keep the Show running certainly came into play, and of course space is tight at Disneyland Park.
Attractions that no longer pull in attendance numbers are usually turned into something else.
Such was the case it seems with the Bears on the West Coast.

I personally love the Show...in it*s original, un-cut version....and wish it was still at Disneyland.
I can understand why it was decided to remove it, but it is a shame to have lost a great AA Show.

I'm just happy we still have it. I like it more than the Tiki Room.

My most recent ride on DLRs *Splash Mountain* was this past September.
Still needs quite a bit of work, but it was looking much better AA wise then it did the previous year i rode.
Scenes were much brighter and most of the animated figures were working then i had previously seen.

The previous year it looked very rough...lots of lights out in show scenes and many figures missing movements or just no animation at all.
Was surprised to see such a example of *bad show* at Disneyland.
For about 30 seconds i thought i was back at Walt Disney World!

If i am remembering correctly, i recall quite a bit of talk last year about DLs *Splash* getting some love in time for the 60th.

Hope it happens!

Disneylanders are more so Tiki Room fans than Country Bears. I remember my cousin was the only one in the family who truly liked the show.

Now if they attempted to have the Tiki Room replaced, the backlash would be much stronger.
