Rumor Disneyland Tomorrowland Future - What to do?

We all know that Disney will have to do something with Tomorrowland soon, what do you want to see?

  • Demo it and start over with a new theme.

  • Demo it and start over with same theme.

  • Demo everything but Space Mountain and keep same theme.

  • Demo everything but Space Mountain but retheme the land.

  • Remove only certain attractions but keep the same theme.

  • Remove only certain attractions but retheme the land.

  • Go retro and bring back '67 Tomorrowland.

  • Don't touch Tomorrowland at all, leave everything the way it is, its my favorite land!

And proud of it! :D To be honest, I even liked the much-criticized constant braking and accelerating. It gave the ride a wacky, eccentric feeling. Maybe it's not what they were aiming for originally, but I think it was a lot fun. :D
What you call "a wacky and eccentric feeling", most people would call "getting car-sick"!

Which amazes me. I thought you would be first in line for the Star Trek thing. It was in Vegas for ten years. I've seen it a few times and I rarely go to Vegas.

Here is Quark's bar as of 2014. Too bad Disney doesn't make something that looks like this.

That would've been more fun if they'd had several huge, drunk animatronic Klingons sitting around a table to one side. :D

BTW, I also liked Luigi's Flying Tires. I had no problem getting my saucer to scoot around at a good clip, thank you very much. :D And the weird rubber-legs feeling I'd get after climbing out was fun!

I like old stuff.

Even if it is not really that old, park attractions.

I think it is such a shame they took out Mr. Toad and Snow White. They could’ve built Pooh elsewhere.

I love the “old feel” of much of Tomorrowland.

I appreciate change as well and new can be refreshing.

It’s a little too late now, but my theory is DL should have been kept as it was. It should be a living museum of sorts.

The have California Adventure right there.

WDW could be the newer changing place and DL should have been preserved.

I still haven’t recovered from Mickey and Minnie’s country homes being removed at MK. The kids were always nuts about those.

I shudder to think about Epcot and all the changes to come.

And no offense to Star Wars and Marvel fans, but they just don’t ring my Disney bell.

I think Disney misses the boat by not capitalizing more on the Classics. So much could be done with that alone.

There is something to be said for Nostalgia.

Don’t go messing up Tomorrowland!

I don't know if this is meant to be a poem or what, but you're all over the place. Mixing in projects from both DL and WDW, and even throwing in DCA.

But just to be clear in case you didn't know, this thread is about the DL Tomorrowland only, not the WDW Tomorrowland. :)

I vote of no confidence.

Opened three years ago and they only have two rides at the largest version of Disneyland ever. A Tron coaster and a minimum spinner ride does not make a land.

Disney had a blank slate opportunity with Tomorrowland for Shanghai and instead of providing a cohesive purpose, they delivered on re-purposed attraction concepts accompanied with sleek minimalism architecture, nothing more. Disney has struggled since the 1980's to really give Tomorrowland much of a point or even keep it current with tomorrow, so seeing the company tackle the concept yet again with Shanghai was intriguing but hollow.

It’s not cluttered with old relics of 1950's optimism or 1980's sci fi, for better or worse. Conceptually however, I’m not sure this Tomorrowland ever even attempts to make any sort of point and if they couldn't do that with an empty canvas how is anyone to believe they can with Anaheim's Tomorrowland? I have no hesitation in stating that Disney officially has no clue what to conceptually do with Tomorrowland. If tomorrow is not about space or transportation or civic and cultural advancement or even Star Wars it’s apparently about the aesthetics and bought intellectual properties.
