After waiting all this time, tomorrow is going to be like the series finale you've been waiting all year for. It's going to be anti climactic once it's over.

Let's hope it's more like the Friends finale as opposed to the Seinfeld finale.

After waiting for AP/Membership news for so long, when it finally comes it doesn't even matter anymore as I doubt our family will stay in California much longer. I'm glad I can watch this from the sidelines and not have to feel like I'm being extorted. If these rumors are true, I doubt this program will last very long. I'm sure Disney thinks their customers are idiots, but it might surprise them how good a memory some of us have, and that we remember what you used to get and for what price. I think the emergency roll out of discount tickets this summer shows that the AP crowd isn't necessarily willing to pay top dollar for what is still a dimished experience.

I’m not saying you’re wrong…

but both of those concepts are insane.

an installment plan is not a Discount. I looked up “Discount” in the dictionary and that isn’t it.
The entry is the heavy cost - not the crap. I get that is foreign to the Disneyland audience because of the legacy passes…but I wasn’t aware they were looking to spend an unlimited amount to go? Maybe.

the problem with “trips” and Anaheim is that’s not their AP market…it is in Orlando…but not California.

so “making Trips affordable” doesn’t really apply to that demographic. They want guaranteed baseline cost control…a “discount program” if not done delicately will explode…immediately.
Well we'll see what drops tomorrow. Who knows I could be way off here. I'm just basing this on the concept of the old Magic Kingdom discount program, and what a lot of the entertainment industry has introduced in their loyalty membership programs over the last decade. So I think its very doable as its worked in the past, and has worked with recent loyalty programs like AMC Stubs.

Also remember that TDA has been trying to turn DLR into a tourist destination rather than rely just on locals. Its the reason why they were already moving away from the "unlimited" AP to the "reservation" AP and now to whatever this new thing will be.

Moves are being made, will it work, lets see....

If Avengers Campus represents the quality of what future new stuff at the Disneyland Resort will be like, then charging over 1000 for a low tier pass is a ripoff and pure greed. I really wish Knott's would improve their ops and add high capacity attractions, if it did, it would feel like a more suitable Disneyland "replacement," and I would slowly lose interest in going to Disneyland if they continue down the path of offering less for more money.
You don't want to pay 3 thousand dollars for a pass that gives you a chance to enter a lottery to win the chance to wait for the Spiderman Web Slapperz ride?

You don't want to "mobile order" a hot dog 2.5 hours before you're hungry for it?

You don't want the right to make reservations at the Blue Bayou 60 days in advance so you can pay $200 for a meal while seated at the table farthest from the water?

Disney isn’t hurting for visitors, but they learned from DAK more parks dont equal longer stays. I think we will see more resorts/Disney Springs type things before another park.
Correct. There is zero point of more gated in that zip code. None.
I think the Star Cruiser is going to be their main focus but I don't think a 5th park is even really feasible from an operations perspective. And I've said before on other threads I don't think WDW management is all that concerned about overall attendance numbers at the moment.
I think that’s gonna be a massive punt.

Just some I’m thinking of the right comparison…are you talking about the magic kingdom club? Or some other Disneyland specific program?

I'm talking about the old Magic Kingdom Club discount program that started at Disneyland back in 1957 and ended in the early 2000s. It was the forerunner to the AP program that we know today. It was offered as a perk at a lot of companies back in the 60s-80s as a way for employees to get discounts to Disneyland.

How long until whatever is announced for Disneyland is mirrored in Florida?

I’ve been planning my retirement in Florida for nearly a decade but if Disney eliminates the AP that takes away one of the major reasons for moving there. The Carolinas/Tennessee are just as pretty (water and trees) but without the heat and bugs, wonder if this could slow Orlando’s insane housing market?

Two friends are retiring to Tampa and have been going every once and a while and are loving it (they're military so they get those discounts). Another friend moved to Nashville last year and other than the tornado that came a bit too close last year, they're enjoying it there (though they miss good chinese and mexican food). Two other friends here in Cali have their eyes towards a Florida retirement, but I feel WDW would have to go pretty far before they'd reconsider.

I looked through my bag of unused A-E tickets that my grandma gave me and found a couple of those Magic Key coupons. I noticed that they were tiered (child, junior, and adult). What are the odds of them repeating this and creating passes based on age groups?

Did you read the cover? You could see the Walt Disney Story and Great Moments with Mr Lincoln for free!

Not only that, but check out the prices of the ticket books:

Basically $6 for children and $7 for adults, and each ticket book came with 11 coupons, which is a great value. Compare that to this new Premiere Pass thingy at DLP where they will charge apparently up to $18 to experience ONE ride.

It's almost 11pm here on the Eastern Seaboard, and I'm still popping popcorn in preparation for tomorrow's big reveal.

This is gonna be great entertainment and high hilarity, for sure.
Looking forward to watching it all unfold.

I'm already entertained by the announcement of an announcement. What if tomorrow's announcement only gives some info and tells us to wait another day for more details? The suspense!!!!!

Just curious... How old are these? What's that cost adjusted for inflation?
