I wish they'd reopen the lounge to everybody up there. They could call it the 'Top of the Land'!

Yes!!! I think it has a new name now, I think its now called the E-Ticket Lounge, not sure if its keeping the name through the remodel.

I wonder what will happen to all the special suites like the Mickey Mouse Penthouse, Pirates Suite, and theres a few more. As goes for the Marina Tower suite.

Hot Sauce 1 has posted some pictures of the new rooms, they look beautiful! see more at the link.

Wow, definitely a step above how it was before. We stayed there in the summers of '07 and '08 ('09 was offsite) and although it was a good experience, we weren't as impressed with it as a flagship hotel in regards to the rooms. This looks great and my only gripe left is the comfort of the beds; I hope they're softer than before!

Work is now moving over to the other half of the Dreams Tower. Rumor has it the elevator that takes you up to the Concierge lounge is going to be removed, which is kinda sad I loved that elevator, it offers some great views of DTD and was a great way to get to the lounge.

It seems this rumor came true, the newest photos show the tarps and scaffolding lowered a bit exposing the blue/star background that the elevator would have hid.:(

Also a small fire broke out on the 3rd floor of the Dream Tower(the one currently half blue) You can also see the elevator shaft getting shorter in the picture from the link below

This thread needs some updating-
The Dreams Tower(formally Sierra, future Adventure Tower) is now complete
The Wonder Tower(formally Bontina, future Frontier Tower) is almost if not already complete
The Magic Tower(formally the Marina, furture Fantasy Tower) is just starting its renovation.

The new pool and water slide area-

Big news…Today we’re sharing details and concept art that will give the Disneyland Hotel a fun, fresh makeover. The pool area is getting a whole new look, including a brand-new pool, all-new immersive water play area and a complete redesign of the Never Land Pool. Plans also call for a new restaurant and bar, and re-theming of the hotel’s three guest room towers.

Tangaroa Terrace and Trader Sam's
http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/bl...er-sams-to-join-disneyland-hotel-this-spring/
In keeping with that spirit, we are excited to announce that this spring Tangaroa Terrace and Trader Sam’s will open. The tiki-inspired design and storyline for this restaurant and bar were a perfect fit, as they tie in thematically with the mid-century modern architecture of the Disneyland Hotel and the adjacent Dream Tower, soon to be renamed Adventure Tower

Rumors of a 4th tower continue-
http://miceage.micechat.com/allutz/al022211a.htm
Meanwhile, plans are now being shuffled through the approval process for a fourth tower, dubbed the Tomorrowland Tower, to be built in an expansion of the Disneyland Hotel in the middle of this decade. Once the entire hotel makeover is complete and all 1,000 rooms are back on line by the summer of 2012, TDA will be watching closely through early 2013 to see how the occupancy and spending patterns pan out at this refreshed property. If the upgraded hotel can meet projections in an uncertain economy, the Tomorrowland Tower will be green lit and begin construction on what is now a surface parking lot and an unused access road behind ESPN Zone that has been blocked off since just after 9/11 (seen above). Since it’s a building that would mirror the basic cement and glass architecture of the other three towers, the construction costs are rather low for an additional set of rooms that would still command premium prices.

A look around at some of the construction

That has to be one of the coolest looking waterslides ever! And right next door to a Polynesian restaurant and tiki bar!

I love how they are just going for it, and smooshing all of the fabulously kitschy Disneyland themes together to create a unique Disneyland environment.

Short of tearing down the three mid 20th century towers and starting over, I think this is the best version of the Disneyland Hotel that there has ever been.
