For this show to have some real staying power and not end up playing to empty theatres like Lincoln it’s going to have to resonate emotionally. I’m hoping they nail that part.
Disney will probably use AI to alter some of his famous sayings to say something like ”To all who come to this happy place, Spend!!”

I have no doubts they’ll nail it on the emotion, as despite any rumors to the contrary, they do treat Walt as an important fixture, an IP unto himself if you will.

As for longevity, as with any show the longer it’s around unchanged the more likely it’ll play to less and less crowds over time. But I think it’ll be a few years before it plays to empty theaters.

The more I think about this show the more excited I get about it. At first I was just kind of slightly intrigued but I think there’s a lot of potential here. It’s such a perfect show to have on Main Street at Disneyland. There’s a lot to love about the Main Street Opera House from its history as Disneylands lumber mill during the parks construction, iconic mildew aroma, the huge Disneyland model, exhibits etc so to see the Walt Disney/ Disneyland story come to life at that location in the way of a state of the art AA show could be really neat.

EDIT: not to mention the obvious - its history showcasing the first advanced humanoid AA / show with Lincoln. And now to hopefully carry forward the legacy with Walt’s show and hopefully one of the most advanced animatronics in the world.

Smellitizers with sawdust and mildew smell during the show confirmed!

Remember when Disneyland (and Walt Disney World) used to gain special anniversary parades when the park reached a major milestone?

Ever since the conclusion of Disneyland's 50th Anniversary, Disney decided to quite doing anniversary parades for the US Parks. The closest is a small anniversary tag for the drum float for Paint the Night and Pixar Play Parade (which consists on small decorations). At least Tokyo Disney Resort/OLC keeps the tradition alive.

Hopefully the 75th will get its own, PtN was basically considered the 60th parade without the “year” float as the successor to MSEP. I’m just happy it’s coming back, and hopefully sticking around.

Technically PtN doesn't count as a "true anniversary parade" since that parade is a clone of Hong Kong Disneyland's parade with a few new additions.

Since it kind of feels like they are bringing back favorites for the 70th (paint the night and wondrous journey) they should take it a step further and bring back Aladdin to the Hyperion!

I can dream...

Make it interpreted by Cars and maybe it gets greenlit. Imagine:
Aladdin-Lightning
Sally-Jasmine
Genie-Mater
Jafar-Luigi
Iago-Guido
Carpet-Red

Just saw the entire lineup. And wow…..thats an offering…

Just curious on what happened to the planned brand new daytime parade for DL? wasnt the reason of ending MH And demolishing the floats, was to make way for the new one?

There was one planned? I thought that parade was for Hong Kong? 🤔

Is Magic Happens returning for the 70th???
Unknown at this point. Unfortunately, I could very much see them feeling like with PTN and the Pixar parade, they're "good enough" on the parade front.
Exactly - this is a mid-tier celebration. Eager to hear I2I in the new World of Color as that's one of my favorite songs, period.

That said, I wish they brought back the 24-hour parties for celebration kick-offs. Were they that much of an operational headache?
I doubt they'll ever bring them back after the last one. DL closed to people early on, where people camped out all day for ideal viewing spots. Then disgruntled people filled DCA until it too hit capacity. Then they stopped letting people into the esplanade and apparently fights almost broke out between guests and security. Then a ton of people left Disneyland after the fireworks, but nobody new was being let in; meanwhile, people still in the park were posting near-empty park pics on social media. It was a complete disaster. They may at some point bring back the 24 hour day as a random gimmick, but I imagine they learned their lesson to not tie it into the opening day of an anniversary.

Honestly, the location of that theater is such that almost nothing is going to fill the house forever unless they somehow fit something in there that is a must-do on the scale of Rise-something I doubt is possible or will ever happen. Probably the main thing that's keeping Lincoln there, really-keep the diehards happy, and the chance of producing a breakout hit attraction in that spot is practically nonexistent.

If Magic Happens is dead and a new day parade was ever announced, or even rumored, that would be news to me and presumably many others on this forum. It's still pretty new and didn't seem unpopular when I saw it. It's true that the DL Entertainment Dept. sometimes feels like it is staffed entirely by people who have no greater desire than to constantly make the wrong decisions, but I can't believe that even they are so stupid or short-sighted as to junk a fairly-new parade without a confirmed, fully-budgeted replacement, even in the context of the last several years.

I'm seeing purple, pink, blue, and gold. Doesn't look like the trans flag at all to me.

But I do understand that seeing things that aren't there in order to spark discourse and outrage is a hobby for some people.
Right like I can’t imagine what would have possessed them to say that if not to try and start something. Even if it were the same colors…so? Probably wasn’t on purpose and specifically highlighting that color scheme as an issue on the basis of it being trans flag colors is just gross.

“World of Color Happiness!” Debuts at Disney California Adventure Park

This all-new “World of Color” show is inspired by Walt Disney’s words from the opening day park dedication from seven decades ago: “To all who come to this happy place… welcome!”
This nighttime spectacular will explore “happy” through a kaleidoscope of emotions, hosted by Joy and the other Emotions from the hit Pixar Animation Studios films, “Inside Out” and “Inside Out 2.” Along the way, the Emotions manifest music and moments from favorite Walt Disney Animation Studios’ and Pixar Animation Studios’ stories, including “Turning Red,” “A Goofy Movie,” “Tangled,” “The Lion King” and so many more.
“World of Color Happiness!” will transform Paradise Bay with a brilliant array of signature fountains, dynamic lighting, colorful lasers, fog and dramatic flame effects, painting musical memories with all the wonder that only “World of Color” can create. View attachment 829195
Oh wow! Not only it's including A Goofy Movie, it's also including Wish! Amazing! Looks like Wish is a cult classic after all.

Whatever you do, don't show this to WDWPro and other grifters! They'll make a big deal out of it and ruined Disneyland's 70th Anniversary. The grifters ruined DIsney's 100th anniversary, they will do the same with Disneyland's 70th anniversary. So be careful not to give them any ideas!

This image unlocked a core memory of me at ~4 years old, sitting on the curb of Main Street USA, sharing a candy apple with my dad, and watching this parade. I very distinctly remember hating the Fantasia plants and mushrooms, even wanting to throw ice at them.
