Way to deal with the actual facts of the situation. Perhaps the salesman will let you wash his car now.

They absolutely can't take Pan off-line until the FLE opens. It has to me in their plans. No doubt.
You hear all the complaining because some folks here locked on to a false meme years ago because they were misled. And now they just can't bring themselves to accept they were played and made 'tools' of.
It all started when PI closed. That is when they summoned up a certain spirit. I think you get put the pieces of the puzzle together from there.

Understandable why Pan can't close right now.
I just find it odd that the majority of people here say the same things, how TDO is lazy, things need to be fixed or plussed, etc. You seem to be the only one content with the current state of the resort and the only one to justify TDO's actions.
LMAO, wow!
. You seem to be the only one content with the current state of the resort and the only one to justify TDO's actions.
Do me a big favor. PM Steve some time in the future and ask him for his personal take on the matter. He follows the situation on a day to day basis. He has real connections. He is not an apologist for TDO, TWDC or anyone else. Nor does he believe the sky is falling I am pretty sure.
Then you will see through all the gloom more clearly.
Likely because the only thing you are educated on is Disneyland.
I just might do that. I hear the same complaints on other sites too, BTW. It's not just this one.
True, but if everyone is saying the same thing, I'm going to believe them.
Believe me I am aware. But this is true of almost all forums of any subject these days. People are utterly miserable and have a desperate psychological need to share that misery.
Have you ever heard the phrase, "misery loves company"? Nobody like being around such negativity. But on anonymous forums the miserable can find fellow travelers.
Just because people are loud doesn't make them correct, and that goes for both sides of the coin.True, but if everyone is saying the same thing, I'm going to believe them.
The rumors on Micechat are that the Subs, Autopia, PM track and Innoventions will be removed. There we go.
Autopia is actually connected to the Monorail and the Subs, so I'm thinking they may not be going anywhere. I'm 99.9% sure Innoventions is going bye-bye, though.

Splash Mountain is always popular, but had pretty much nothing fixed during its down time. They installed lap bars but otherwise really didn't do anything to fix the massive list of problems inside the ride itself. The only time there was really a big thread and stink about it was that time when someone managed to catch the entire riverboat scene being messed up on camera. At that point it was so bad and embarrassing that even people who had never been on the ride would have easily noticed that there was something seriously wrong. That breakage didn't last long thankfully. But nothing else was fixed either. Most of the figures in the ride are still partially broken. You don't hear people talking about the Yeti as much anymore, but that doesn't mean it's fixed either. Someone did create a thread about general cutbacks in another subforum the other day and there was indeed discussion about the pitiful state of Splash, particularly the Laughing Place scenes-

Big Thunder would have been an overall great refurb had they fixed all that was wrong. The third lift is still laughable, especially making an amateurish mistake like playing the projection effect backwards and not fixing it in due time. It's a shame because I really thought it was a pretty darn good overhaul otherwise (visually at least, dunno about structurally because I heard they neglected some of the internals of the ride that need fixing).
Interactive elements have definitely received mixed messages from people. People like the nicely themed queues (which were actually just playing catch-up to Disneyland and newer attractions in the themeing department), but they can also be annoying and head-splittingly noisy. Anyone who is over about 6 years old or so is probably going to tell you how much they detest the nauseating noise in Pooh.
The Haunted Mansion is one ride very few people have anything to complain about, few will disagree that it got a lot of love. I have only one complaint which I won't even bother to say because the rest of the ride is so much better. Though others have expressed dislike of the new queue.
Tiki Room I like overall. Only complaints are a lack of a fountain (which sucks), and there are already some non-moving parts needing maintenance. When I last visited some of the flowers and tiki statues didn't move properly.
I figured that. Which parts are considered BS?

I'm not wasting time with people that have been plonked.. but to give you an example. Refreshing the fascade of the diamond horseshoe does not mean the entire place was refurb'd.. and also skips over the fact the place is still not open, not used for shows, and is only occasionally used as a indoor eating area to sell pre-packaged sandwitches...
But hey, telling you they completely refurb'd the place sure sounds a lot better doesn't it?
The majority of what he listed is what you call UPKEEP - not investing. (like replacing a roof) It's what you are SUPPOSED to do in the first place. The problem is the state they allow things to get to before they do these overhauls, because they don't do regular maintenance. And this is just the building structures we are talking about here..
The story isn't 'WDW doesn't spend money' - they do and tons of it. The story is WDW doesn't maintain Disney show standards, they reduce offerings, they reduce regular maintanence, and where they do chose to invest for new things is often dubious.
Pointing out localized successes doesn't negate the big picture. By pointing out the HM refurb as an example of their successes ignores how they treated the HM leading up to that refurb for years... and where it is ultimately headed because of the same behavior that hasn't been corrected.
