Ellen and Innoventions arn`t recent

There merits and flaws have been discussed ad nauseum on the boards in the past I`ll agree.

Recently, really only HOP and the HM have been regarded as A1 refurbs. Everything else has resulted in the finished product being unfinished by virtu of cuts implemented on the overhaul or in a product that ended up having less parts than before the refurb.

Hall of Presidents: Much more interesting now. I'm not talking about the addition of Obama but the updates.

Haunted Mansion: Better than ever before. New scene, new effects, new lighting.

Oh Canada: The film has been updated and it's more entertaining now.

POC: Still keeps the old charm but adds new elements for today's youth.

Buzz Lightyear: Much better than If You Had Wings or Take Flight.

ToT: Much better with several drops than the original "one drop".

Test Track: More exciting than WOM ( in most cases).

TSMM: Better than any show previously in it's space.

I just don't see your point.

In total agreement. :sohappy:

I do partially agree that there is a certain amount of magic that is being lost with the newer refurbs, Haunted mansion is definitely an exception to this , but imaginations was at its best before the refurb, Mexico was a lot nice ride before the bird invasion :p it was nice, almost a romantic boat ride, now its not. Stitch, well I'm ok with stitch cuz I like him but the alien encounter was more thrilling. TOT is great no matter how it gets reprogrammed. SSE well I miss the old communications kiosks and the free big phone I could call home from :) Innoventions... hmm I miss the communicores, The livingseas is better with the old ride working again even refreshed to nemo.

I'm not opposed to dropping in movie characters into older rides but they should be additions to that ride and not be overly predominant.

oh how i miss horizons........ Its more fun that MS is, maybe I just like the longer rides with lots of animatronics.

At home on TV you see lots of ads for Disney Parks and movies. At the parks you see lots of references to Disney movies and TV programs. It's a way of cycling interest in the company and it gets guests to spend money. Whether you admit it or not it's a smart marketing move and it's working.

Can someone please fill me in on what the decent of SSE was pre refurb? I cant for the life of me, remember what it was like. I think I only rode it once before the refurb, I believe it was back around the millenium.

TTA has been ruined with the new narration. SSE has also been ruined in my opinion.

SSE leave you with nothing. It once had a memorable narration that would keep your attention. When you got off the ride it left your mind to imagine the possiblities of technology, and how far we've come relaying information. Now it's "oh cool how funny! my picture is on a cartoon figure!"

So that's the reason why hords of guests run to it every morning? :brick:

No, the reason hordes of guests run to it every morning is because it's one of, if not the most, advertised attraction in the park. If everything you saw regarding Epcot (once you landed at the WDW Resort) was "come check out this awesome ride called Body Wars that's so awesome and thrilling" you'd have a bunch of people racing to Wonders of Life when the gates open.

Hey, everyone's entitled to their opinion. If you think Test Track is a great ride, then enjoy it. I, however, ride in my car going 65 miles per hour everyday on the way to work, and not once have I said "wow, this is thrilling ... I want to do it again". And I even get to turn the wheel and make the car go where I want! On the otherhand, the World of Motion was a classic - AAs, music, educational, entertaining. Even the exterior of the building was classy; they've turned it into an eyesore with the scaffolding (who the hell approved that? and has he been fired yet?).

Advertising or not, if the attraction was as bad as you make it out to be, the general public would know that it was that bad through word of mouth and would not make a bee line to it every day.

Yes I miss world of motion, but I do like test track too :) Space is at least an interesting ride but horizons was the best in its day, and would prob still be in epcot as a classic if the building hadnt been so bad...

I can still smell the oranges..... true soarin' has a little, but not near as much or as anticipated.......

I think 'Test Track' is popular because it goes fast and is the most "thrilling" attraction in the park.

I'd say Pirates is the worst because the audio is awful in some parts and the addition of Captain Jack is a distraction.

Opinion though, not fact.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with the building. Guest attendance or lack thereof is what did Horizons in.
