Don't take this the wrong way, but why?

So you like Disney? That's awesome! But let's say Disney was like McDonald's. You love McDonald's and are loyal to McDonald's. But you hear that Wendy's down the road has this butt-kicking sandwich you just HAVE to try. But you are loyal to McDonald's.

Brand loyalty is great and all, but in the grand scheme of things is really kinda pointless.

I can garauntee that there is more to Universal than just Roller Coasters.

Uh, nobody's putting a gun to your head and telling you to stop loving Disney there, kiddo. Relax we get it, you're a Disney Lover. And based on your sig, there are at least 9 more of you. :D

I have to admit though, that it's a bit odd that you also say in a later post that UO/IOA doesn't have the "magic" of the Disney parks. IN fact you sound kinda definitive on the subject. Because it sorta kinda sounds like you've never been there, so how would you know? You're gonna base your opinion on what's been said in THIS thread? Because once or twice a month, you're gonna find a thread started by someone who had a sucky experience at WDW. Why didn't they find the "magic?" It's one thing to say UO never seemed appealing to you, it's another to say UO isn't worthwhile. It's like reviewing a movie or TV show you've never watched.

You're more than welcome to cheerlead for Disney all you want, but you seem awfully defensive about something as innocuous as whether or not Universal is worthwhile.

Truthfully, I am one of the biggest fans that Walt Disney World has... but I still have an annual pass to Universal Orlando... That's not anything to feel guilty about... You know what? I have a good time going to Universal when I am there too (I love the Jurassic Park area of IOA, I guess its the old nerd bit of me). I am not betraying WDW in anyway by going there either... They each provide entertainment is mass quantities, and I feel grateful that I have the ability to choose.

I am a true Disney fan but I do like to do Universal.Would I pick Universal over Disney? NO but when im in OTown for vacation I do Sea world and Universal too just to break up the trip.I grew up with the Jaws movies and King Kong so I do like to do the Jaws ride and King Kong.

Also im grateful that universal is there for the fact that competition keeps WDW on its toes.

Kongfrontation is long gone. Is that what it was called? I can't remember, but I loved it. I was sad to see it go and I was upset when I heard something themed to The Mummy was replacing it, as I didn't really like The Mummy movies at all. Then the ride opened, and I love it. Revenge of the Mummy is a worthwhile attraction, but I would love to ride King Kong just once more to relive a memory.

Universal is just not as good as Disney - just a different atmosphere. They don't preserve the magic like disney does. However, that said, Universal throws events such as Mardi Gras and Halloween Horror Nights - which Disney would never do. These events are pretty awesome, and are geared to the older crowd. Thus, heres my consensus.
Feb - Apr = Universal
Oct = Universal
Every other time, don't waste your time, go to Disney!
